I’m just posting what a UK beat writer said

NIL is always a factor but we have to be a promising destination for any frontcourt guys. Bama is about to have a top 2-3 pick and another first rounder. One of those guys is a PF.
Program is looked at as a contender now no matter what anyone thinks. Getting the no. 1 overall seed is huge for perception’s sake.
Most importantly tho is playing time. Nelson and Kaluma would be instantly major contributors. That’s what transfers at this level want...playing time.
I don’t see any way at getting all 3 but getting Nelson and/or Kaluma would be enormous.

The BOL guys all moved over to on3. Right now they are offering 6months VIP access for just $1. I just took an old gift card I got at Xmas that had like $3 left and signed up for 6 months. Pretty awesome

Pretty sure that's who Clowney signed with too. I'm honestly curious who Bediako signed with. Because it seems his decision is more questionable. Unless he just really doesn't want to go to school.

This has to be it. The only other possibility is that one team absolutely loved him and made him a 2nd round guarantee despite the rest of the league not being interested. No combine invite is basically a signal that the player had minimal if any interest from NBA franchises.

I just joined as well, figure I'll re-assess right before the yearly subscription kicks in.

If they end up with Nelson and one of those guys, they are a top 10 team by the end of the year. Guard play will be strong this year with JQ, Sears and Estrada.

It just sucks that we're portal chasing big men this late. But the fact that there's still options for us is great. I think it says a lot about Oats.

So what exactly is the deal with Miranda? All I can find is that he was a top 50 class of 22 kid who was set to do a graduate year until NC State offered to let him join mid-season. He didn't play any minutes and apparently redshirted. Just seems like a weird situation for a pretty highly sought after recruit.

Isn't that essentially what Davin Cosby did?
Posted on 6/1/23 at 1:03 pm to RollTide33
No, kind of the opposite. Cosby was originally supposed to enroll this summer as a member of the class of 2023 but we had a free scholarship that allowed him to enroll early with the intention of redshirting. Miranda was a highly rated class of 2022 recruit who was apparently in the process of effectively reclassifying to 2023 before signing with NC State and enrolling last December, and from what I can find there was never an intent to redshirt him.

So essentially he just didn't get any PT because he's raw as a cob and not ready yet (as of this past year)? I gather he's basically a project.
Is he considered an athletic 7 footer that just doesn't have much of an offensive game yet?
Edit - I just looked it up. According to Keatts (NC State coach), the issue for Miranda was conditioning. The general thought is that he should be ready to play several minutes this upcoming season.

Nelson, Kaluma, Stevenson..I think you have to add one of the three preferably Nelson or Kaluma. Two of the three would be a home run. Miranda is probably more a project, can provide depth but not someone you can count on.

Gotta go full court press for Nelson and Kaluma and then let Stevenson/Miranda/Sherrell (mid-season enrollee) have the last spot for whomever commits first. The depth at Center would concern me but we could mix and match a few different combinations to make it work.

Sherrill midseason is an interesting thought. Would he be transferring schools though for only one semester? We definitely want him though. I really hope we can get Kaluma and Nelson right now. They are proven college players with lots of skills.
