Have received several texts/calls today of people reacting to how fast 2023 prospects are moving in their recruitments. The portal sped things up in 2022 and now coupled with NIL things appear to be moving quicker in 2023.

This will be interesting to see play out,
How it changes things.

With how Illinois has started the season, they can definitely use playing time as a selling point.

Another outstanding game from 4 star Alabama commit Rylan Griffen (@GriffenRylan).

23 PTS shooting 50% from three. Griffen is a gifted scorer who improves every time he steps on the floor.

Played exceptional defense tonight as well.

Griffen reminds me of a more polished version of Miles at the same age. Have I mentioned that I love that Oats clearly has a type? Because I really do love that Oats clearly has a type. That's how you build a program. The only coach I can think of who has ever had sustained success with a pure BPA recruiting strategy is Cal.

The duo of 4 star Alabama commit Rylan Griffen (@GriffenRylan) and 5 star Kentucky commit Cason Wallace (@wallace_cason) was unstoppable today in the win.

Griffen: 32 PTS (5-8 3PTM), 6 REB
Wallace: 29 PTS, 7 REB

One of the best backcourts in the nation.

His 3-point shooting sounds amazing. Then he even likes to play defense. Great combo.

He's going to blow up this year. He's already a top-60'ish rated guy that's viewed to have elite upside (future lottery pick potential). He may end up in the top 30 after this season. Will be interesting to watch.

Blood, Sweat & Tears: Sophomore Trentyn Flowers shows out on big stage

Throughout the summer and during fall workouts, Trentyn Flowers has built up buzz as a player to watch in the class of 2024 while racking up double digit high major scholarship offers. Over the weekend in the Blood, Sweat & Tears event in Kansas City the sophomore at Huntington (W.V.) Prep showed why on a big stage against high-level competition.

One of the smoothest wing operators in the 2024 class, Flowers showed a lot during his first two games of the season. On Friday, he took some lumps against a loaded Link Academy and then he bounced back on Saturday against Universal Academy to show off his full arsenal of jump shooting, above the rim finishing and alert playmaking for teammates.

“At first I felt like I was a little bit shaky and when I came out the physicality was a little different than I was used to," Flowers told 247Sports. "I felt like I adjusted well, got to my spots in the mid-range, hit some threes and got to the basket so I felt pretty good.”

His play earned him a new offer from Kansas to go with those he already had from Alabama, Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Iona, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss. Originally from Las Vegas, Flowers moved to Atlanta a few years ago before landing at Huntington Prep for his sophomore season. As he settles in, he feels like he's got much more to show.

“I feel like people are going to see not only that I’m a great player but I’m a good leader and a great teammate," said Flowers. "I’m going to be able to show my passing ability a lot more, maybe get on the boards, block some more shots because I’m a versatile player and that’s what I bring to the team. I try to be very efficient.”

So far, Flowers has been able to see two college campuses and knows the types of questions he would like to have answered.

“I went to Xavier and Cincinnati for unofficial visits and I’m planning to go up to Oklahoma State soon and hopefully Georgia when (Huntington) goes down there," said Flowers. "Cincinnati was amazing and then Xavier was cool because coach Jonas Hayes over there knows my people.”

“I want to know how they are going to play me. What type of coach is in place? I want to play for a coach who has good character and one that I can build a good relationship with.”

Flowers is likely to start off pretty high in 247Sports ranking of the class of 2024 and he's already landed some high level offers. He never thought that so much would happen so quick but at the same time he's not surprised because of the work he's put in. He's not satisfied either and will continue to work.

“You know my dad and I are always in the gym and we’ve always worked hard so it isn’t surprising because I feel like everything that I have I deserve," said Flowers. "But you don’t expect it to happen so soon and I feel like there could be more to come because I'm going to keep working."

Rylen Griffin went off again over the weekend. This time leading his team to a win against #1 Compass Prep. As I've mentioned before, he will likely end up rated a 5*. That upside is lottery pick level.

I had understood that we didn't have paper on Miller. Just a verbal, and that he might still go pro. Informative feedback would be appreciated.

He signed, but that doesn't keep him from going pro, if he wants. No reason to think he will though.

Yeah, I mean, he had a contact in getting of him already. Not really any new offers will be heading his way. He'd have easily gone pro, if that's what he wanted. I'm not worried.

It's my understanding that the concern is that the G-League or NBL will come back and offer him more money. The LOI locks him in with us if he goes to college, but it's meaningless as it relates to professional options. Right now he thinks he will make more from NIL than going pro, so he's going to college. It's a purely financial thing.
