Would love to get Omoruyi. A rotation of him & Sherrell at the 5 spot would be a massive upgrade over Pringle & Wague. We all know how much our frontcourt was an Achilles heel for us. I have no doubt that Oats will find a way to address that. Omoruyi would change our outlook immediately.

Now in my Alabama Basketball Fantasy Land, the guy I'm holding out hope for is Ryan Kalkbrenner. He still has a covid year left, and hasn't decided about using it or going pro. He's not super high on most mock drafts, and maybe he'll feel like he's done all he can do at Creighton. He's worked a bit on his 3 point shooting game, but we could certainly help him improve there. And he shores up every weakness we have around the basket. Adding Kalkbrenner & bringing Sears back would instantly make us the National Title favorites imo.

That's just a pipe dream though. I have know idea what his future intentions are. He probably won't transfer if he comes back, and he'd require a substantial NIL deal if he did. But if we were ever going to get into the tampering game with this new portal, I'd love to have someone in his ear right now.

Would love Kalkbrenner. He's the perfect 5 for our system. Like you said, entirely a pipe dream, but Zvonimir Ivisic from UK is very similar, and I would love to see what he could be here.

Kind of surprised he went to Memphis.

Fantastic post-up 3-pt shooter, but bad at creating shots on his own.

Bad at finishing around the basket. Defense is suspect.

I always thought he would be best if he were the 2nd or 3rd best player on the offense. When other teams focused on him, he didn't do so hot. That said, he finished the season on a tear and, as another poster said, taunted Memphis after the win.

Perfect player for Penny.

I wonder if he's threatening to use his AAU/prep school connections to steer kids away from Memphis if they fire him the way he allegedly did to get the job in the first place.

Are most or all the former Kentucky commits going with Calipari to Arkansas? Who paid them in the first place, and who is paying them now? I hope just for the sake of not-stupid business that Kentucky did not pay them their NIL in full before they signed. We need a rule that players are free to transfer any time, but they have to repay all NIL received according to how much of it they earned by playing. It's only fair.

NIL technically is only paid based on the use of a player's name, image, and likeness, untethered from their on-court playing time (even though we all know in practice it is largely pay-for-play).

I suspect any business or collective writing big checks to student-athletes is tying payments to enrollment.

Sam in the portal. Really wanted to hang on to him but these spots gotta come open somehow.

I think he is gonna end up a really good College Basketball player

50% of college players entered the portal this year. It’s just the world we live in

Dang. I wanted to keep him. I think he could be a college star in time.

I think Mac said he was one of like 3 players that he was confident in returning, and he always seemed like one of the more locked-in players. Makes me think he was pushed out, which is a little surprising.

Why are there so mamy ridiculous "hot takes" on here? I assume it's trolling, but we're eaten up with trolls lately.

I think this is Oats making room. But still If we lose Sears,Nelson, Pringle, and Wague that’s like 5 spots we gotta fill now. But Oats does have a lot of money to play with this offseason so he may be going all in for this year

Sam was probably uncomfortable around all those young women in Tuscaloosa. He was probably disgusted when he found out what why women under 40 use KY. FAU would probably be a good choice for him, since he'd get laid a ton in Boca. Though maybe he's not interested in women, since he has no D.

Alright, I had to get that out of my system. This is shitty. He would've been a great piece off the bench. But I'm guessing he wants to start somewhere.

I'm actually impressed you get reception while under that bridge.

But you really can't imagine why someone would leave in a crowded position on our team? With the current nil and portal situation? Walters played about like I expected, possibly even more. Imo, it sounds like some good ol fashion tampering.

This. Its year to year now.

We have players that would rather chase a bag than win games/championships

How do you know Oats has alot of money to play with this off season? Did you read that, word on the street, or just assuming? I'm curious
