I had a feeling when we soundly beat China’s national team on an off shooting day that there was something to this squad.
And we still haven’t seen Dom Welch, who is a great shooter and played a big role over the summer on the foreign tour.
Gonna enjoy seeing Miller in person this year every chance I get.

What a great job our strength and conditioning coach (Henry Barrera) has done with JQ Tremendous Hire!!
Also, Chuck looks much bigger this year. Nobody is bumping/bullying him out of the way this year

Was thinking about this during the game too. Our guys look explosive and more physically fit than in recent years. They all look and move like elite athletic basketball players instead of just generically in shape college kids. Oats might've found a real one in Barrera.

South almost took down Oklahoma tonight. (I know nothing about Oklahoma basketball this year, but I’m going to assume that’s not nothing.) Could just be South’s pretty good.

Crowd was really into it tonight. Usually don’t see that against a team like JSU. People are realizing this team is special.

Yes our guys are noticeably bigger...I forgot to add that Henry Barrera has helped Nimari Burnett as well.
He's not only a strength and conditioning coach but he's also a skills coach so he helped our guys in multiple areas.

Awesome night in Coleman!
No. 18/16 Alabama Dominates Jacksonville State in a 104-62 Win
The Crimson Tide knocked down 21 three-pointers making it the third time in program history to hit 20 or more threes in a game
The No. 18/16 Alabama men's basketball team hit 21 three-pointers in a dominating shooting effort inside Coleman Coliseum Friday night, taking home a 104-62 win over the Jacksonville State Gamecocks.
The win marked the third time in program history that Alabama (4-0) has made 20 or more threes in a game, with all three instances coming under head coach Nate Oats. It's also the seventh time over the last four years that the Tide has hit the century mark.
Freshman Brandon Miller had a stellar performance, posting a season-best 28 points including 20 in the second half to lead the team in scoring. The freshman shot 9-of-12 shots from the field and 7-of-9 from three. Nimari Burnett and Mark Sears both contributed 18 points, marking a career-high for Burnett.
The Tide, which entered the contest leading the nation in rebounding, continued to dominate the glass in the win, out-rebounding the Gamecocks 49-25. Alabama is now outscoring teams by and averaging of 27.3 points (84.8-57.5) and out-rebounding the competition 24.5 boards per game for the year.

"That was nice to make shots. I thought our defense picked up in the second half, I give them credit. They played really hard, and they (Jacksonville State) made it hard for us to open it up in the first half, even as well as we shot it. We didn't really start opening it up until late in the first half. We kind of challenged our guys at halftime on defense. Our numbers weren't great; we were giving up way too many points per possession on the defensive end. The first four minutes of the second half still weren't great but the next 16 minutes after that first media timeout in the second half, they scored 14 points the rest of the way. We talked to our guys about not playing the scoreboard. We didn't care what the score was; we were going to play every possession. I thought we did a pretty good job of that. I thought our guys stayed pretty locked in, the ball moved well, and we shot it better. We ended up with a season high in assists. That always helps to make shots, but I did think we had the ball moving a little better. The turnovers were down significantly, I think we only had 10 going in the last four-minute stretch of that last media time out and we left with few out there, but multiple guys did a lot better job taking care of ball. All in all, it was a good win. It is great to be 4-0 going into the stretch we have next week, and it's going to be a pretty tough stretch there with the teams we will see in Portland."

Looking forward to Thursday night. Ready to see what this team can do. Schedule worked out nicely. Four games to get our feet under us before the competition picks up.

One thing I noticed as I've watched our highlights over and over...at the 16 minute mark in the second half just look at our guys on the bench.
Noah, Nick, Dom, DMiles like guys are enjoying their teammates success. I hope it lasts all season but what a wonderful sight to see last night.
Nick Pringle reactions tells it all.
When you don't care about nothing but your teammates & winning!
BTW OUR STUDENT SECTION IS CRAZY! HUGE SHOUT OUT TO THEM

Brandon Miller looks like a #1 overall level prospect in most drafts. He won't get that high this year, because Wemby and even the Scoot guy are insane prospects. But at his current level, he's definitely a #1 contender in a regular year.
That level of prospect paired with a defense that has been as locked in and high-energy as we have been isn't just a title-contender but a title-favorite. I'm usually pretty cautious with early season results, but the way our defense has been this consistently intense throughout this stretch of mid-major games (which in the past these type teams have been our kryptonite) is getting me stoked.

Nice catching up in this thread from the last couple of games. I made it back in town just in time to watch last night and I know it's just JSU but wow what a performance. This team looks like it's going to show up and play defense every night, they have the size/athleticism against almost every opponent, so when the 3 ball is falling they look to be a very...very tough out.
As others have mentioned, this team is very young, so we'll see more improvement as the season progresses. I'm very proud and happy for this team, there are a lot of likable guys and you want to see success for them. Oats has built a great roster this year and is going to have a lot of fun mixing and matching depending on what the situation calls for.
Very happy to get these four games in before our Thanksgiving tournament. This was the perfect game to get into our system before matching up with the bigger programs. We'll see what they can really do Thursday night.

Michigan State is probably the most tested team in the country. Their schedule has been insane so far.

All i know is that the Lakers suck and Nola has their pick. I would love to see either of those 3 go to the Pels.
