I don't think Alabama needed a reality check shoot I just think that's what you get playing a lot of Freshman

I disagree. Not sure if you remember the Mississippi State game earlier that week, but we looked like shite and had poor effort. That's why I wasn't surprised to lose to Oklahoma, but was surprised to get our arse kicked. And I don't think our guys believed that us getting our asses kicked was even possible.

So in my opinion, that was definitely a reality check. Because the difference in hustle was night and day on the next game. I mean, we beat Vandy by 57 points. Keeping the foot on the gas like that tells me that they took that reality check very seriously. And we've been balling ever since.

Zero talk on the Vols boards about our game. They are still stunned thinking about their last 2 L's.

I've gone over there a few times over the last year. And that board is pretty much completely dead.

What happened at Oklahoma? They are not good and beat us soundly. I don’t get it.

Why did the '90s Bulls ever lose a game? They were always the better team, right?

Because it's basketball. Way greater upset potential then football, especially on the road. And sometimes you just have bad shooting games. If you ever played competitively, you definitely understand. Combine the fact that we have some young players and key positions, and you're going to lose at least one road game that you shouldn't. That's why there hasn't been an undefeated national champion in decades.

I think Chuck is playing better but I wish we could see a little more Pringle instead of Gurley. I think he brings athleticism and toughness that neither of them have

Pringle has had a good couple games. I'm also glad to see him getting more minutes. But because we are so deep, expect to see the rotation vary depending on our matchups.

There’s talk we’re getting one in Huntsville soon so I should be able to contribute.

Totally agree. That game is seen as a negative now, and rightfully so, but I also think it helped the team realize that they can lose if they don’t bring it on the court every night they’re suspect to lose. It was just a perfect combo of coming in uninspired and Oklahoma not being able to miss.

Since then you can tell a difference in attitude and performances. Compared to last year, we actually stepped up and made some corrections instead of letting that loss snowball for the rest of the year.

What’s crazy is I think Gurley has played better this year than last when he was getting a lot more minutes. He’s playing well and it’s hard to find minutes for him because this team is so deep.

What's sad is that the #1 will jinx us.
Just 40 years of Bama basketball in me feels this way.
Hopefully I'm wrong

I thought he was playing great earlier in the year, leading up to a few 20-minute games, and then suddenly he went through like a month of only seeing like 1-5 minutes.

At first I figured he was banged up a little bit because he sometimes wears a device that looks like a lower back stimulator during timeouts, but the way he's looked on the court, you have to wonder if he's just been in the doghouse for whatever reason.

So now that we're #1, I think Oats sounds call a team meeting, just to make them rewatch the Oklahoma game.

Barnes said that Josiah Jordan James and Julian Phillips are game time decisions for Wednesday. That’s a starter and their 6th man

When I was stuck working in bum frick Eastman, GA, i ended up eating Mexican food 12 out of 14 days in a row. Sometimes twice a day. But there was no other options besides shitty fast food. One thing I can say for certain, is no matter how high quality the Mexican food is (and they surprisingly had some really great Mexican food there), it definitely takes a toll. And good authentic Mexican food is some of my favorite cuisine. But damn, it'll get to you. So that arena better get built.

So happy to be #1. What I’m most happy about tho is every bracket I’ve seen today has Bama as the #1 overall seed.

I have been going into each matchup lately with absolute inner pessimism. The reminder of what we were before Oats consistently creeping back in...I’ve already accepted that going into Tennessee after being crowned the new no. 1 is going to equal a loss. Especially how desperate the Vols are.

Hopefully that “expect the worst and hope for the best” mindset pays off again and we get the W.

Tbh I do really feel like we should win this game easily. Mizzou went in there and dominated for most of the game. Auburn was one shot away. Bama hasn’t allowed 70 pts in SEC play. If we continue that trend we’ll win in Knoxville.

This is a massive game regardless how comfortably in both teams are. We can’t let Tenn knock off another no. 1 Alabama team in Knoxville.

I wouldn't be shocked if we lost Wednesday after the emotional trip Saturday plus a good Tennessee team that is desperate plus another hostile environment.

With that said, I'm sure we'll go in there ready to play and get after it. We can pretty much clinch the SEC Title with a win on Wednesday considering the remaining schedule and the odds that A&M drops at least 1 more.

Aggies are a good team and playing well. Losing to Tenn opens up the door for them. Odds are they drop a couple more but if they don’t and we’re 16-1 going into Aggy land who is 15-2 for the last game to decide the conf title(hypothetically)...I wouldn’t feel great considering our record vs Buzz and A&M.

6 games to go. If we can get past Tennessee on Wednesday then going 18-0 in SEC play looks pretty realistic suddenly.

You know it would frustrate the hell out of me if I was a Barner knowing we had Trey Alexander and he decommitted because Bruce recruited Green and Jasper…..Alexander is much better than both

Almost been in tears over this number 1 ranking because of how far we've come...Bama literally had one foot in the grave just a few years ago but my gosh look how the TIDE has turned.

Just Amazing!

Congratulations to the Coaching Staff, the team, and all the FANS (New & Longtime)

We all need to enjoy this season!!
