I have a feeling Doug Shows will be one of them

Honestly I'm fine with a ticky tacky ref. They arent as good as we are defending and that foul a lot. Additionally, they are abysmal at free throw shooting

I've now seen 3 different brackets that have us as a #1 seed in the Midwest (Kansas City) with Kansas as the #2 seed.

There's no way they'd actually do that, right?

I don't think that would happen, but not because it would be unfair to us. I don't think they would do that because they would want Kansas to have the easiest path to the Final Four given that they're the best and only real blue blood school near the top this year and have a chance to repeat. I imagine that if they're the 2-seed, they'd be in the Midwest bracket with the 4th 1-seed.

We do an amazing job of defending without fouling. That is the best trait of our defense to be honest. With a ticky-tack ref that no longer is a huge advantage.

Given how bad the SEC has screwed us with scheduling in regards to the Auburn games the past few years, Pat Adams and Doug Shows are probably going to share the floor and make it a slanted FT contest.

Feel like we win by 5-7 points as long as we maintain our composure.

Auburn's big problem all season has been inconsistent to bad guard play. If Bama maintains their composure and plays their average game, Auburn will get blown the frick out.

With the energy the crowd will bring, that's admittedly asking a lot but it's the kind of test the team needs heading towards the postseason.

I may have missed it on here, if so, I apologize but has anyone heard the rumor that UA got a big donation today for the arena? I don't have twitter but someone said Mike Rodak tweeted something about Byrne talking about him in Birmingham campaigning for donations.

Yes. He went on an interview with Roger Hoover and said they received a big donation this morning. Said they’re getting close to the $250M needed for the arena but we’re not there yet.

Preciate it. Wish we could just use what we got from the SEC this week and put it to the arena fund

Byrne said in an interview he did today that they did get a donation today or last night. Don’t think he specified if it was big or not

This is assuming Auburn's guards play a bad game. I don't care what they have done all season, Auburn, especially with Pearl, always punches above their weightclass in big games at home, even more so when playing us. I expect Auburn to play a hell of a basketball game.

I'm as negative as anybody when it comes to the arena stuff (like a battered lover).

However, the fact that they continue to talk about it in specifics makes it clear to me that they want and expect to get it done eventually. Will it be in the next 6-12 months? I dunno, but I do think this is absolutely moving more forward every day. I just think it's very hard right now (regardless of whether I think that's a lame excuse).

I've felt rather confident since the Florida game. Of course, Auburn could pull an Auburn and play out of their minds against Alabama at home (regardless of sport) but if those Guards don't hit their shots from the jump, I can see it getting pretty ugly for them.

The home crowd will be insane but only that can get them so far if the players aren't taking advantage. I know the Oklahoma game is still in the back of our minds but I feel like we're going to show up on the road tomorrow.

I think we'll play fine tomorrow. If Auburn makes a bunch of shots (which I kind of expect) then it'll be a war. If they don't, I think we have a chance to control the game and build a lead and hold off runs.

I don't expect the atmosphere to shake us at all. This ain't that type of group. More concerned they might come out a little too geeked up.

My biggest concern about being too hyped up is JQ.

And the best thing about that is....if he is? He'll get yanked immediately and we'll put another quality player on the floor in his place.

That's what makes this team so damned good.

I both played and coached at a well-known North Alabama private school that is good in every sport they try. When I moved on to public schools, I could see how everyone was getting fired up to play my alma mater. I wasn’t coaching the varsity then and I tried to tell them none of that stuff matters. But watching my new school play my alma mater told me how wrong I was. I had only been involved in it from the other side. We thrived going into hostile environments and enjoyed it much more than playing at home. The more hostile, the better. I am hoping the Oklahoma game was just an outlier and we will handle it more like we did at Houston.

Good stuff - that's all very pertinent.

What's funny is I think that the Oklahoma game was actually the opposite. We came in sleepy and kind of got punched in the mouth not expecting it. We weren't tight or amped up, just kind of not mentally there.

Good description for that game.
