Is it about time to shorten the lineup?
JQ should be kicked off the team if he can’t quit his shite.

Good post and I agree with most of what you said. But...
Bediako had 4 points and 2 rebounds in 8 minutes
Pringle had 2 points and 3 rebounds in 5 minutes
I don't think Pringle outplayed Bediako by a wide margin. We didn't play either center much since Oklahoma has big guys that can hit threes and were mismatches for our centers, who cant shoot threes or guard three point shooters.
I like Pringle AND Bediako, but neither one played much today.

Idk about shortening the lineup but Welch and Burnett are liabilities on offense right now, but are two of our better defenders, and are only bad on offense right now cause they're injured/rusty. I get mad that we are playing them sometimes but if they can get healthy and knock the rust off offensively we'll be better for it come March.
JQ has probably been our second best player the last few games, he should play more imo, not less.

Honestly it is better to take some Ls in late January and early February so long as they inform improvement by the player and coaches.
I was getting a bit worried that we were just going to stomp through most of the regular season left on the schedule and it would have us fattened up for a rude awakening in tourney season.
Our conference schedule hardens down the stretch so I suspect we may take a few more road losses.

We're 5th on KenPom after that loss. UCLA is 3rd after back to back losses.
I assume we're still a 1 seed. We could lose one of @Auburn and @Tennessee and stay a 1 seed most likely as long as we win the games leading up to them.
next 3 games
Vanderbilt
@LSU
Florida
then we go to
@Auburn and @ Tennessee back to back.

Looks like 7-3 Big 12 unless Kentucky rallies

We’ve lost 3 games. Undefeated in SEC play, and folks have reached for the panic button., fricking hell. We aren’t on a losing streak. Get a fricking grip . Vent and then stop being a little bitch.

People forget too soon. Before Oats, we were bubble watching, not seed watching.

I have some long-term concerns after the last week about our ability to defend teams on the ball. One of the reasons our defense has been good is that we have big athletic erasers at the rim that cover for our guards getting beat off the dribble. State and Oklahoma countered that by continuously running high ball screens that drug out our bigs and negated their ability to defend the rim. We are very average guarding the ball straight up we were absolutely abused by it today (and the 1st half against State). Gonzaga did the exact same thing to us. That defensive effort we put out today was just flat out embarrassing. And they should be and hopefully are embarrassed.
There is tape out there now. Teams are starting to adjust how they play against us. We are going to have to counter. I think our coach is good enough and our diversity of talent good enough to do so, but it's gonna be a process the next week or so.
I'm going to chalk the effort and sluggishness of the last 2 games up to a bunch of road games + the Miles stuff. If we see another sluggish dud against Vanderbilt then it's panic button time, but not there yet.
With all that said, anyone losing their mind and woe is us we're terribling things after today needs to take a step back. We've got 3 games to get right before a 2 game stretch that defines the regular season. We're still a very good team, but the last 2 games have been a wakeup call for the team and the fanbase that CBB is hard and we are far from invincible. We have flaws and if we don't show up and play with an edge every night we can lose just any game left on our schedule.

Not hitting the panic button but it’s also a reality check. Second straight non-conference game we have been exposed. Couldn’t stop Gonzaga either. I do think the conference being down hurts us. Most of the teams in this league don’t have the offensive firepower to challenge us. Arkansas and MSU can’t shoot. Ole Miss and LSU are God awful.
We are a good team. Have some great non conference wins and the Missouri and Kentucky wins are solid too. I just think we had got a little fat and happy. Too many pats on the back. Barkley calling us the best team in the country. Hopefully, today re-lights the fire. The next three games won’t tell us much scoreboard wise, we will just have more talent. Want to see the effort and focus back though.

Basketball is a funny sport. There is a lot of continuous action and the ball can bounce funny.
You're going to lose a game or two to inferior teams. That is how it goes. We'll see if Alabama is a great team by how they avoid this down the stretch.
The point in this sport is not to go undefeated. It is to win consistently, compete for your conference tourney, then string together some of your best games at the end of the year in the national tourney.
Right now, Alabama is still positioning themselves to succeed but a few guys need to get out of some cold shooting funks.

This is disturbingly looking like the past few seasons where they peak in late January, start eking out a few wins and the collapse.
Did we just transport back to 2018 or something?
The team last year didn't collapse they were a yoyo all season. We lost to Memphis and Davidson in December. We lost at Missouri in January. We beat Baylor after that.
The 2020/21 team didn't collapse. They went 16-2 in the SEC and won the SEC Tournament.
So if you want to apply Avery Johnson era hot takes to this bunch have at it.

We've played the 3rd toughest schedule in the country according to KenPom and have only lost 3 games. One game we lost to #6 Uconn and one we lost to #17 Gonzaga (current KenPom rankings).
We were having the best season of anyone in the country up until today where we were as cold as ice on the road and the other team shot 70% from three.

The other team got open looks every possession down the floor. The world ain't ending but our defense today was an embarrassment. There are flaws that we've managed to cover due to not playing well coached offensive teams much that have come to light against the ones that are (Gonzaga, Oklahoma). Specifically teams with bigs who can pick and pop OR roll. Oklahoma didn't just have some other worldly shooting game - they got great looks all day AND had a good shooting day.
We have work to do. And that's fine, we now have a very clear picture of where that work had to be done. Better now than in March.

We're starting to look a bit like Auburn last year. Started off red hot and cooling off as the season winds down. If it wasn't obvious that the SEC was down from conference play, today made it evidently clear that the SEC is bad this year.
If this team can get back to being hungry then we should be fine but I'm definitely concerned because being undefeated in a bad conference is nothing to get too excited about.
But I'm hopeful but still I never get too excited about Bama basketball, they let me down way too often.

I will say, if we come out sluggish and disinterested early on Tuesday night......a bad 2 game stretch moves into problem territory.
Not because of the game itself, but 3 straight games where we don't come out ready to go in not a good sign.
However, I'm gonna be shocked if that happens.
