I’m a big JQ fan and have been defending him this year but his negative plays per minutes played and bad play/good play ratio is getting hard to defend. I still think he has a skill set that can really help this team this year but he has got to get the negative plays way down to be playable going forward.

Well today we played by far the best of the presumed best 4 teams in the conference.
Against a Doug Shows crew on their absolute bullshite. I can’t express how big that is.

I got a serious down voter on my hands but anyway once JP got going he didn't miss period.

I was impressed with what Welch did for us tonight. He didn’t make his shots but on defense he never got beat off the dribble and played good help defense as well. Looks like he was already in decent basketball shape.

I heard it was a raucous environment tonight but I couldn’t tell because ESPNs audio on the SEC Network is fricking awful

Same for me. He could be one of our best players, but he's been so loose with the ball he's killing us.

Related, was Miles with the team tonight?

His defense will be much needed until Nimari gets back. And his stroke looked nice too even if they didn’t fall

Bama coaching staff seems to be doing better too.

Great game plan. Took #1 pretty much out of the game. And in game management was awesome as well. Only Chuck fouled out.

He looked really good. I noticed they couldn't really push him around either. I can't wait for him to get going on the offensive end shoot I know it might take a few games but I am happy he's BACK.

They had 36 FTs to our 18.

While we’re at it, another good night for Sears.

20 points, 5-11 FG, 4-6 from 3, 6-6 FT. 3 assists and maybe most important, 1 turnover.

He’s already a player you can trust to usually do the right things.

The Angel Hernandez of college basketball. He's such a goddamn a-hole.

Great win. Miller is a beast. We prevented a decent team from ever going on much of a run at home. We answered all of their big shots. These guys just seem so much more composed than what we saw most of last season. And that composure really feels like the only reason we haven't lost more games given the turnover issues. We really have to get a handle on that. Even against a high pressure defense it felt like half of them were completely unforced.

I agree. We really need his defense with Burnett out.

I thought we looked like the best SEC team that played tonight.

Yea, it was beyond ridiculous. Maybe the worst officiated game I've ever seen. My post was about the coaching staff dealing with it.

On a team without another option at PG you let him play through this funk.

On a team with Sears and Bradley…?

It could just be in my head but I feel like every time he’s in the game we just get in a funk. It’s never just one big thing, but just general crappy play. Tonight we’re up 13-14 and he comes in and the lead dwindles to 9 over the course of 3 minutes. I can’t even say it’s all his fault, we just play worse when he’s on the court.

If you want to hate everything, pay attention to when Gurley is in. It's astounding.

What amazes me about Gurley is he either makes the shot or it’s nowhere close. He never has shots that rim out or back iron. It’s 100% all or nothing.
