UAB just wrecked South Carolina. Should Andy Kennedy get another shot at a P-6?

I know South Carolina is shite, but he has UAB playing good basketball in general.

He’ll be fine, he’s just not a good perimeter defender. He brings 100% effort all the time though. We’re fortunate to have

Your last like 10 takes were all spot on, then you started talking about Q. He’s got good qualities, but 100% effort all the time isn’t 1 of them.

Evidence…What’s Q’s charges taken per minute played vs every other player under Oats as a head coach (or even just Alabama)? Heck, even Shack would put his body on the line last year. Q is not a tough, 100% effort guy. It was great to see him dive on the floor recently, because I’ve seen him back away in those situations or “half pretend” to try and tie the person up more times than I can count in his career.

Q plays AAU or NBA Allstar game style of basketball (all offense, no defense, zero contact). That’s not what we’re looking for night in and night out. Oats is playing him generally in the right spots at this point, and I hope that continues into March.

Mississippi State is the wild card but I’m seeing a big gap between Bama, Arkansas, Kentucky, and UT and the rest of the SEC

Don’t die…we got to win on Sat! Need your fake nervous energy and Joka’s irrational optimism that day!

Yes, he would be an upgrade for some of them imo.

Which was over 1000 more than at the Houston game.

I’m nervous. Gonzaga is an elite Program who can easily flip a switch at anytime.

I think so too. Vandy should give him a look when they fire Stackhouse in a few months. Unless the taxi incident still isn't far enough in the past to let their administration sign off on it.

"- This is a really big win for Alabama. Memphis will be a top team come March. The team is apparently older than an NBA team"

That is one reason this win was so impressive. They are grown men playing a bunch of 18 year olds who were coming off of a much more draining game.

Last year we would have been seriously dragging. Oats has frequently mentioned getting them enough rest, which I don't ever remember before. Good reason to hope we don't fade at the end as we have in the past.

Stansfield and his merry band of mercenaries are getting obliterated by 0-9, #359 NET Louisville right now.

It's actually much nicer than you might think, and will make you yearn even more for a new arena.

I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I cannot stress enough how bad Coleman looks on TV.

The lighting is always dim and seems uneven. I’ve never been to a game there, so I don’t know if that’s actually a problem at the arena, but it looks awful.

Also, the weird wall on one side, the benches being on the same side as the cameras, I just hate it. Please renovate or build a new one. We’ve got a race car engine sitting in a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am.

Hats off to Miles for the big night too. Good for him.

Agree, Miles played well. But the problem with him has always been consistency. He would have a good game then follow it up with 3 or 4 bad ones. Hope this version of Miles is what we get from now on.

This would have been the perfect season to open a new arena.
It's only going to get more expensive.

It looks pathetic on TV.

Just my opinion, but (as a spectator) it's not really that dark in there on the court, it's just that the seating area is poorly lit and goes so far up into the nether regions of the actual roof. Past the first sub-section of rows, you're literally sitting in the dark. I think the fixed cameras dramatize this effect, because they're up there in those areas.

This is a big one for me. How in the world anyone thought it would be a good idea to design the seating perpendicular instead of curved should be flogged.

I mean look at this seating chart:

There are like 8 sections in the corners that aren't even aligned with the court, and the diagonal ones are so far away, you might as well be sitting out in the parking lot.

I hope we don't spend this whole year whining about the arena. Everyone wants it. Nothing we can do about it here.

What's the gonzaga spread Sat? guesses?

He still shows immaturity at times, like when he got the made basket and placed the ball on the floor. I think the ref gave him a warning after that and said something to Oats.

There’s just things he does outside of playing the game that make it seem like he’s not always locked in. Maybe that’s why he’s not as consistent.

No question he can help this team and he brings energy on and off the court.
