You can tell UNC isn't a #1 team. Either they are poorly coached or their players just aren't what they're supposed to be.
A #1 team would have put us away the other night, but they kept doing Coach Avery level dumb play.

They also stunk last year until the postseason. Maybe Huburt has trouble getting them going

While I don't believe we will be a bubble team, I don't think we should be speaking these kinds of things into existence given our history

Freshman Brandon Miller's ascent at Alabama
Miller, the No. 1 scorer in college basketball among freshmen, showed what makes him unique at the PK85 tournament as a 6-foot-9 guard with dynamic shot-making ability, a strong feel for the game and defensive versatility. Miller went 9-for-21 from beyond the arc in Portland for Alabama while rebounding prolifically, authoring several impressive blocks and getting to the free throw line more than five times per game. NBA scouts scour the globe for oversized wings with length who can handle and pass with either hand, play with energy on defense and make shots in a variety of ways, giving him a very high floor as a prospect.
On the downside, Miller lacks explosiveness creating off the dribble and struggled to generate high-percentage offense for himself inside the arc, going a dismal 8-for-34 (24%) from 2-point range and having his shot blocked far more than you'd expect at his size. Just how much of a half-court creator he projects to be in the NBA is something scouts are pondering, which will help determine if he can eventually threaten to crack the top five of this draft or ends up being more of a mid- or late-lottery-caliber prospect.
Being a sophomore age-wise, having just turned 20, is something to consider as well. The fact that Miller has significantly ramped up his intensity defensively and is playing an unselfish brand of basketball is promising, and if he can continue to make strides as a playmaker operating out of pick-and-roll and isolation situations, he'll be well positioned come June.
From the latest ESPN draft analysis. They have him going to the Pels at 7.

PROGRESS ON NEW BAMA BASKETBALL ARENA SLOWED BY HIGH CONSTRUCTION COSTS
Plans to replace the Coleman Coliseum are not expected to proceed any time soon, according to Stuart Bell, president of the University of Alabama.
During a meeting with the Rotary Club of Tuscaloosa Tuesday, Dr. Bell discussed the rapid growth the University of Alabama has experienced since he began serving as president in 2015.
Bell said for the 2022-2023 academic year, the university broke 33 enrollment records, including the largest overall enrollment of over 38,000 students and having the largest freshmen class of 8,000 students.
Bell said with the consistent growth of the university, there is a need to have facilities to accommodate and retain students at the Capstone and said there are a dozen of construction projects happening across the campus with new buildings and renovations to existing facilities to aid that effort.
When asked about the new basketball arena, which was approved by the UA Board of Trustees in February, Bell said the university is looking to move forward with plans but at a slower rate to assess constructions cost challenges that have affected the start of the process.
"We are certainly working on the design of it," Bell said. "A real challenge we've had over the past 12 months is construction costs and we're trying to watch and see where those are going."
Bell said in some cases, the costs have seen increases of 30 to 40 percent, which he said "is not in our plan to do."
"You wouldn't want to be bidding a project like that today, that's for sure," Bell said.
The $183 million arena would hold 10,400 seats for basketball and gymnastics competitions in Tuscaloosa.
Greg Byrne, director of athletics, proposed the idea to the board of trustees, who approved the preliminary project scope and budget for a new athletic arena on UA's campus.

I’ve pretty much accepted there isn’t going to be a new arena. At least not for the foreseeable future.

And yet somehow our friends in West Georgia just completed a $92m facility that broke ground last year.

This is the sort of thing where we all know that if it was a football facility that it would be well under way right now.
It is what it is, and to be honest we'll probably end up losing our coach because of it if he continues to build and succeed. And we'll have only ourselves (administration) to blame.

I’ve thought the same thing for how strange it is that someone so tall is having his shot repeatedly blocked half the time he goes near the paint.
