I know no one wants to bring it up but with the era we’re in currently if Quinerly and Sears both return next year I’d be shocked if Bradley didn’t hit the portal. I don’t want to see that happen but I feel like it’s an inevitability if JQ comes back.

Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I disagree. He would still get plenty of minutes next year, and his junior and senior seasons it would be his turn to be the experienced upperclassman guard we can count on, like JQ is right now.

If we were to regain just a margin of the contributions we were getting from some of these guys from earlier in the season, I would never fear a loss ever again.

A lot of that has to do with adjustments other teams have made. Bradley's gotten less effective for the same reason a lot of hitters tear it up when they first get to the majors and then hit a wall. There's a book on him now that consists of cutting off the drive by giving him an extra step or two at the arc.

The good news is the sky isn't falling. 1) We have two upper classmen who are more than capable point guards; and 2) typically it takes time to grow into that position. Look at 247's PG rankings for 2022. Other than Anthony Black there's not a single dude on that list who stepped in and tore it up this year.

Yea I have zero concerns about Jaden long term. He will become a solid outside shooter - he has a good stroke and shoots pretty well at the FT line. We make those guys into competitive outside shooters.

He defends pretty well, plays hard, is a great finisher. I expect him to take a huge step next year and be a 3-4 year guy who is an all-conference player his last 2 years.

I rewatched the Creighton game last night and I’ve got to admit something…..Trevor Releford was not fouled.

Also we played really good offensively and only scored 57 points.

Totally agree, the freshman wall is more than just getting tired legs down the stretch. Teams know how to defend Bradley now, it's up to him to continue to improve in other areas of his game to counter those adjustments made by opponents.

I'm eagerly looking forward to the development of Bradley's shot and Griffen rounding into an all around player and not just a shooter that shows flashes of good passing.

Arkansas State has hired Alabama assistant Bryan Hodgson, source told @Stadium. Hodgson was in mix for other jobs, but this one fits. Has been with Nate Oats at Buffalo and in Tuscaloosa and is responsible for recruiting majority of the roster.

Damn. Knew it was gonna happen soon but it still sucks.

Big challenge for Nate. Hodg was a huge piece of this whole thing.

He’ll have to hire a cutthroat recruiter. That’s for sure.

The good thing is we still have an elite recruiter on staff. But losing Hodgson is big.

Let's be honest. We're ranked #1 and it's late March. We all knew it was not a matter of if, but when.

I just feel bad he's going to Jonesboro. I took a 20% pay cut to transfer and take a promotion to avoid moving to Jonesboro. It's pretty much the shittiest part of Arkansas, and that's saying a lot.

Yep - I mean he's a great recruiter, but I think his role with the roster itself might be even bigger.

Hope he kills it at Arkansas State.

Yeah, that hurts. He's been with Oats what, going on eight years?

For sure. I do think having almost a week off is going to be a huge benefit for us though. It’s a long season for freshmen, physically and mentally (especially this season), so a little extended break to get some energy back could be beneficial. The bigger part though is having time for Miller to get back close to 100%. I really think if we start fast (not always a strength of this time) Friday and get out to an early 6-7 point lead then it’ll be a game we never look back in.

Yep his right-hand man and his defensive guru are both leaving the staff, Nate has his hands full this off-season.

We're due a good shooting night from 3-4 guys from outside at the same time (which = deluge).

I propose that night be Friday.

I wonder if Colton Houston can coach from the bench Moneyball-style with just an iPad and live advanced statistical data?
