I’m a big one bracket guy. Make your picks and ride with it. Bracket hedging is meh.

I'm just doing it for fun, not betting on anything.

Anytime after 1993,if anyone uses "ator", you know they're a giant douche. Guys kinda like the Shermanator from American pie.

Bama vs UCLA in the final

Not concerned with UCLA just losing one of their best players for the year? Jaylen Clark - great defender and their second leading scorer. Then they had their main big guy go out with a shoulder injury (not sure of his status for NCCA tournament).

best part about this post is:
quote:

wow - let’s go ahead and forfeit ! Can you imagine if saban said we’re practicing for a future opponent assuming we’re going to win the first ! . This mentality will almost always cause tide hoops to lose in elite 32

we don't know the opponent yet. I doubt he realizes that.

Jaquez Jr. and Tyger are grizzled tournament vets and are going to will them there. Bona should be good to go.

I'm going to go back through the whole thing with a fine tooth comb and look at the numbers for everyone a lot closer, but my first pass through the bracket without looking anything up ended up with:

Alabama
Marquette
Houston
Gonzaga

Btw, has there been any update on Sasser?

Did I make this up or has Saban also said in the past that when he's building his gameplan binders every season he starts with the AU game and works the schedule backwards so that the first opponent of the season is who he has been focusing on most recently leading up to the game?

I doubt any of these teams will give injury updates at this point. Will find out when the game starts probably.

Did my initial bracket this morning, have a free day tomorrow though so going to do most of my prep/research then once I catch up on all my podcasts breaking down their brackets.

Alabama - winner
Uconn - runner up
Marquette
Texas

A few things stick out to me:

I have no idea what to do with Xavier. I've seen them play maybe three times this year and currently have Miss St knocking them off for one of my bigger upsets.

I'll probably change this but I only have Alabama as the lone 1 seed to make the Final Four. Currently have Memphis over Purdue, Arkansas over Kansas, and Texas over Houston. Feel like I need to put Kansas in there just to make it a bit more chalky.

Creighton is either losing in the first round or making the Elite Eight. I like them a lot and hate they're in our region but you just never know which team you're going to get, I think they'll make Baylor pay for not playing defense and Arizona is the weakest 2 seed.

The West region is an absolute gauntlet but the true wild card is the East, you could make a very strong case for five teams in that region to make the Final Four, and that's not including Tennessee who the metrics love, Tom Izzo, or the 3 seed Kansas St.

And they are healthy.

We better get used to this. They’ll be after Hodgson next. Just part of it when you’re as good as we are

Figured this was about to start happening. Just hope we're able to hang onto Hodgson and Pett and don't have to totally overhaul the staff.

I wish we could've sent Charlie there somehow.
