Would like to get a first game cake walk to build some confidence for that second round game.

Need Alabama to play up to its potential in the first half of the 1/16 game so nobody has to play more than about 25 minutes (would love to pull that off in the second game too). We have 4 more games to play after opening weekend so need to stay as fresh as possible.

I'm just glad we're not playing Iona again.

I'd be ecstatic with 8 points by the under 16 timeout because we'd finally be on pace to break 30 points in the first half.

There was the quote from Oats from before the A&M game about managing game minutes that I think some interpreted to mean he wasn't concerned about players being physically tired.

I agree that actual game minutes aren't so much an issue in a college season. However, he may look to managing practice minutes a bit down the stretch in coming seasons as this isn't the first year where almost the entire team shoots worse the last few weeks.

Had 3 nights booked in Indy and arrived just in time to make that game. Would have probably just gone home if we had lost

Hypothetically, a big difference could exist between a 15 and a 16. That year, the 15 Seeds were;

Iona: Played us tough as nails
Oral Roberts: Beat Ohio State and made the Sweet 16
Grand Canyon: Reasonably close game with Iowa (86-74)
Cleveland State: Blown out by Houston

The 16 seeds that made the Round of 64 were

Drexel: Beaten by 40 by Illinois
Hartford: Blown out by Baylor
Norfolk: Beaten by 50 by Gonzaga
Texas Southern: Down 52-28 but the final differential was only 16

Good news. Looks like most brackets this morning still have us in the South (Louisville)

And an even bigger gulf between 15 seeds and the 4 worst 16 seeds (which we are currently in line to play).

So, we are in line to play either UF or MSU on Friday. Do we have anything to worry about with either one of them ? Miss. State would be a better match up IMO because they can't shoot for shite. Florida isn't very good, either, without Castleton. But they can hit threes. Hopefully whatever ails us in three point shooting can get fixed this week.

MSU has played us tough twice. I’d rather not play Tolu/Jeffries again and get to face Florida.

That will be a tough match up for Florida without Castleton. I definitely would rather play UF. No doubt.

Our Alabama basketball fan PTSD is showing up in the last couple pages. Analyzing which 16 seed we can see giving us hell.

MSU might feel like they are playing for their NCAA tournament lives. They are also more physical. Give me Florida I think.

I mean we'd clearly rather play Florida. But Florida stinks and isn't going to win.

Both are about to beat up on eachother in a rock fight. State could make a game versus us weird, we’d kick the shite out of Florida

MSU should beat Florida easily. I've seen several articles saying MSU will beat Bama on Friday. Them being on the "last four in" line will have them ready to go.

Hopefully, we get our legs under us and confidence and be ready to play better. Also, extremely tough to beat a team three times in a season.

#4 in the AP

UCLA up to #2 but they just lost their most crucial player so their season could flip for them real quick in the PAC 12/NCAA tournament

If you're struggling from the arc like we are, it's going to be much more difficult to get right against Mississippi State than Florida. They're 35th in 3-point percentage defense, 4th in the conference behind Tennessee, us, and Auburn.

MSU much tougher. Much more physical. We’d beat them, but we’d “feel” them much more than Florida. Florida more finesse.

At what point in the game against Arizona did he get hurt because they finished strong against them from what I can tell.

Nevermind, I was able to find it. Apparently, he got hurt two minutes into the second half. Looks like they did well without him. They outscored Arizona in the second half and won.
