Feels like a must win for Ole Missi they want to stay in the race.

State misses the first FT and then airballs the second while trying to miss. What a terrible ending to a great game.

Well it’s Mississippi State so we can’t be entirely sure whether the airball was intentional or not.

58% from the stripe in league play…yikes!

I know it's still January, but for Bama to have sole possession in the SEC at this point in the season is pretty damn impressive. Nate Oats is a fantastic hire. I think he's the best coach in the conference by a large margin.

Still crazy that Kentucky has had so much talent come through and they don't have much of anything to show for it. Zero tournament titles and only 1 regular season title in the last 6 seasons. Hell, only one national title with all that talent is just hard to fathom.

If we win tonight, I’ll become a believer in our SEC championship chances. This is a huge swing game. UGA will be desperate for a win to bolst their NCAAT chances. This is exactly the type of game that can put our team over the hump. Excited to see how we take advantage of the opportunity.

Mike White on Alabama:
"They can play different ways but have certain lineups where they're as skilled as anyone in our league. Sears is having a phenomenal season, both offensively & defensively. He's one of the best defensive guards in our league."

Agree. This game is closer to a 50-50 to me -- like all the away games at the next tier of possible/probable NCAA bid teams (Florida, Ole Miss ect).

Whoever wins the SEC will be the team that finishes better than 50% in them.

We already have the @Miss St win too.

This shouldn't be a 50-50 game. Nor is it. We're the better team.

I'm still expecting to find ourselves in the 5-6 seed range, but Alabama should win tonight.

I mean simply that "the better teams" are still under .500 on the road in the SEC so far.

Top 5 SEC teams on the road (Aub, Ala, Ken, SCar, Tenn) are only 8-7 if you remove the Vandy games. They are 5-7 if you also remove Ark.

#2 UNC lost @Georgia Tech last night, Georgia Tech had lost 7 of their last 8. Who's the better team doesn't always matter when youre playing on the road in college basketball.

Agree. So far, this season that seems to be even more the case. Maybe there's a little more parity/depth of solid teams but it seems that no one in the country is consistently avoiding road losses to "worse" teams.

I think we should beat Georgia tonight but it'll also be a well deserved Q1 if we do.

Oat’s teams usually play good on the road, especially in conference. Seemed like Gottfried hardly ever won a road game.
