And I'd just like to add, whoever sold/gave those courtside tickets to Auburn fans, frick you.
That is what frustrates me more than anything. I understand that opposing fans in the area are going to be there, but to get prime seats on the court really pisses me off. It was the same for football this year. The Texas game and Tennessee games both had opposing fans all throughout the prime seats from the 30 to the other 30

Coleman got loud last night . I was worried right a tip off bc there were some empty seats down low but they filled up. Wished it was a little smaller and more vertical like the seats behind the goals …. Got a buddy with season tx and we sat at free throw line extended up pretty high. He has asked repeatedly to move down with no luck so far but it is frustrating to see it in tv be empty . Hopefully there is a good crowd Saturday
ETA- yes how Bruce didn’t get a Tech is crazy to me . He was the same at last years game

Oddly, back in the day, during the first media timeout they would let you move down and fill any empty seat that was still available.
Probably upset some people that liked to get there late or didn't want to see anyone sitting in their seats while they watched on TV, but it sure helped.

They need to do that at the first media timeout every game.

It's because he acts like a chimpanzee on cocaine from start to finish of nearly every game. The refs have been conditioned to expect it from him, so he has to go way over the line to get T'd up.

Students are showing up and are into the game ….. they need priority seating IMO. Huge section of students

That was perfect. I can't wait until KD Johnson is finally out of basketball and we don't have to see his face "grace" the screen. Wonder what the fans were saying to piss off the entire AU squad. Aubs better nut up and take it because their fans bring this shite on their squad. Their students are complete asses so they can't be bitter when it's turned on them

Speaking of, the last time we got Auburn in tHangar on a Saturday was....2017. They've gotten us at home on Saturday like 4 or 5 times since then. How in the frick is that allowed?
At this point it’s gotta be Byrne requesting it be a weeknight game. If not then it’s total unfair bullshite

Oats has never played a home game against Auburn on a Saturday. All 5 of his games were on weekdays. AU has had 2 of 4 games on Saturday.

From the peanut gallery but also as a season ticket holder who uses their tickets
The coaching staff has repeatedly said NIL needs to be prioritized over a new arena. (In public and in booster club meetings). The team has top notch training facilities, locker rooms and technology. Can we have both? Maybe - but the stated priority by the coaching staff is NIL. Oats himself has indicated a new arena is mostly ‘for the fans.’
I love shiny new things as much as the next person. And I selfishly cling to Coleman because, after years (and years) of buying tickets, I finally have decent seats for sports held in that arena. Seats that get used for every event. And deep down I know that I either won’t be sitting in a new arena, or if I’m lucky, will be back up in the rafters - but there are no bad seats, right?.
Given the rumored price point for seating in a new arena, I’m not sure where the notion that it will be ‘packed’ arises. The same folks selling their premium seats last night will likely be the same ones buying the premium seats in a new arena (and either not using them or selling them when the game is too early, too late, the weather is bad, etc). I get that TV rights are becoming the end all be all - and maybe TV money in conjunction with a prominent student presence will pay the bills and help with the appearance on TV. But I’m not sold that a new arena will be packed. The same 8,000-10,000 fans coming to games today won’t necessarily be the same ones in a new arena.
And if the lower bowl seating is all premium as is rumored (i.e. requires a substantial contribution for the privilege of paying Tide Pride and buying tickets) don’t expect a call to move down to better seats at the first media timeout. One has to look no further than baseball to see the bevy of empty seats in the premium home plate section (where season ticket holders for decades were run out with the renovation) . The premium seats now ‘guarded’ for the entirety of the game to ensure no one moves there. At least they have started allowing athletic department use of them to make it look better on TV.
For now, my vote is to move the ‘media’ to behind the section above the TV cameras and expand the student section there. That should help bolster the atmosphere in the short term and have minimal impact on current fans.
That’s it from the peanut gallery. Que sera sera

Maybe I’m in the minority, but that might only serve to add 500 more aubies in the arena. The weekday game in pouring rain didn’t dampen the atmosphere for us one bit.
I say this probably underestimating how many of yall that live further away would make a weekend trip for the basketball iron bowl

Good post.
My season tickets are in the nosebleeds but I have a family member with essentially front row seats and because of that, he hasn’t contributed a dime to the capital campaign. He said he’d never get this great of seats again so he hopes we are in Coleman forever. I couldn’t blame him.

I just find it shocking that a guy like KD Johnson didn't start his career at Auburn. He fits the culture of the school like a glove.

Both teams were able to take away key components of the others offense last night. @AuburnMBB held down Bama rim efficiency. @AlabamaMBB held down Auburn 3 efficiency. Auburn lost the edge by loading up maybe a little too much in the MidRange.

He’s the supposed tough guy when his entire game is driving right at a defender, losing control, flopping, and begging for a foul
I miss the days of KD and Wendall starting. They were net negatives for Auburn but beloved by the fans because they do something cool once every 10 possessions and celebrate like they’re Curry
