Not philosophy necessarily, but every year he has opened with 4 mid-major home games against teams who did well the year before and are projected to do well this year, hopefully under 200 kenpom. Like everybody, he plays a tournament around Thanksgiving, last year a great Nike one in Portland (played Mich St. UConn, UNC), this year a smaller one on Gulf Coast (played Ohio State, Oregon). As with this year, he has then played at least three top schools if he can schedule them. This year Purdue, Creighton, Arizona, all top 10 and all road or neutral sites (Purdue). We played Clemson in the ACC/ SEC and lost. We also play a December game in Birmingham in the CM Newton Classic. This year Liberty, but last year Gonzaga, next year Arizona. Oats is shooting for high NET, kenpom ratings.

Getting a little worried about attendance for this one. Last week the tip off club offered a chance for discounted tickets and this week Yea Alabama offered a chance for discounted tickets. With the Tide Pride allotment for the Rose Bowl selling out and the games happening so close together - I hope the Bama faithful show up at the BJCC.

They’re playing a tulane team though with a new coach, and they just lost to Southern the other night.
So far this year in the SEC everyone looks like world beaters one night, and then lose to a high school team the next.
However, 10-17 from 3 at the half for MSU is insane considering their offense
