Just watched Oats press conference and he said Pringle wil be back for the Purdue game. I assumed that would be the case and that's great news, we need all the big bodies we can get for that one, Edey draws a ton of fouls. He's the biggest guy on the court but you breathe on him it's a foul, and he rarely gets in foul trouble. He is very good at playing under control for how big he is.

I actually think we beat Purdue. I think we can beat Creighton but that’s our first true road game and that’s a tough place to play. Really need to go get one of them though. If we don’t, we are looking at 7-5 non conference and a mediocre Oregon being our only P5 win. And the SEC hasn’t looked great overall in the non conference.

That’s what people forget about the team two years ago. They struggled and were inconsistent and couldn’t play defense, but they had a hell of resume to hang their hat on-noncoference wins over Miami, Gonzaga, Houston, and Baylor. That’s why they ended up with the seed they did

The Alabama men's basketball team (6-2) defeated the Arkansas State Red Wolves, 89-65, Monday night inside Coleman Coliseum.

The Crimson Tide led the entire game, leading by as many as 31 points (71-40) before settling for a 24-point win.

Mohamed Wague finished the contest with a season-high 12 points and seven rebounds, while Davin Cosby Jr. also recorded season highs with nine points and five rebounds.

The Red Wolves (2-7), who were coached by former Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson, were led by Izaiyah Nelson with 10 points and seven rebounds.

Head Coach Nate Oats Postgame Comments
"We have been emphasizing defense and I thought it was decent in first half (but) still wasn't where we needed it to be and got worse in the second half. We're making improvements on that side of the ball. It's good to have (head coach Bryan Hodgson) back from Arkansas State. I mean, he has an entire new coaching staff. They don't have their full roster and I know how it is coming into a program the first year trying to install a system that they're not used to playing. He's in year one trying to establish, and I think he's doing a good job. For us, we needed to get this one and we need to play better on defense, and we did that. They exposed a few things that we need to work on. Our defensive rebounding needs major work before we play a tough three-game stretch that's in front of us. So, we're going to continue to work on our defense and try to get better."

Rewatched some of the game after I got home and noticed that the broadcast team was not in Coleman. A few thing that happened in Coleman that I don’t recall them mentioning.

Noah Gurley was in the house and watching the game.

Aaron and Mark also achieved career point milestones

Agreed. We have to win at least one of Purdue, Creighton, and Arizona so we have a big OOC win to hang our hats on while we keep trying to figure it out on defense. Hopefully we have some insane shooting night against one or two of them and find a way to pull it out.

I have no idea why but know there are several college players that do that

Same reason kids have mullets and plenty of other modern fashion trends... It drives they're parents crazy. My generation did the same, as did my parents. If parents think something is cool, it no longer is.

Shoutout to the guy who walked up 31 rows of stairs to me and my son 20 minutes before tipoff and asked if we wanted to use his extra floor seats. My 10-year-old got to sit close to Big Al, got a t-shirt, high-fived the players after the game, and got to see everything from the floor for the first time ever. Add this to getting his Brandon Miller jersey signed earlier this season, and we've probably got another lifelong fan on our hands.

I haven't told him yet about the inevitable disappointments.

Crowd was as light as I can ever remember with school in session, which is not good even though it worked out well for us.

Anybody else wish Mo would just stick to playing a role on the team? I feel like we could really use him defensively in spurts, but he's such a ball-stopper on offense (and he has no good reason to be one) that it makes him too much of a liability on that end.

Two of the three games Pringle started last season he played really well, Had 15 rebs and 19 points vs TAMUCC in the tournament and got 12 rebs and 19 points when he started vs Georgia. If we could get that Nick Pringle consistently that would be great. He seems tentative this year not sure if he's worried about getting in foul trouble or what.

When I began reading your post and saw "..31 rows.." I thought you were going to say something like "Shoutout to the guy who walked up 31 rows of stairs to me and my son on his 4th attempt to offer his extra floor seats to anyone interested.."

Glad your son has been having such a blast, he'll never forget.

I will never forget the time we played them the night Ingram won the Heisman. Whenever they need the crowd to get hyped they would just replay the Heisman announcement
