I think a lot of people are overestimating what the offense did last week. For the most part, they didn't do a lot, other than the designed QB runs that LSU is terrible at defending.

It was pouring down rain for most of the game, at death valley at night. The game plan was great for the conditions, and it was executed beautifully.

As long as we don't shoot ourselves in the foot, our offense will be fine, probably dominant against OK and AU. Hopefully we've truly tightened up in the discipline department. Sure seemed like it last weekend, but just gotta keep focused.

No matter why you think the offense didn't do much, it didn't do much. So, my point is, a lot of people are acting like we finally saw it clicking on all cylinders. We didn't. I'm not complaining about the LSU game plan. But, I also didn't see us do anything except run the qb especially well. So, other than hope, there's no reason to think we're suddenly going to start executing other parts of the offense.

Now, maybe the coaches have said "frick it, this is what we can do well" and that's the game plan going forward. I trust Deboer to get the most he can out of the offense. I'm just not sure we've turned a giant corner or anything. And, JUST running the QB won't be enough to beat everyone.

I was ecstatic with how Bama played against LSU but I agree that it was matchup based.

We should all thank the coaches for preparing the team the way they did. It was an incredible win and I love every moment of it in Baton Rouge, particularly walking back to the car.

But to be clear, LSU has a horrible DL. They also had a terrible gameplan for Milroe.

I didn't see a totally fixed offense. I saw an offense that proved yet again that if you let Milroe run Bama will obliterate you.

I saw an offense that again failed to click with the passing game downfield, albeit in the rain on the road at night.

I saw an offense that again failed to run the ball with the running backs consistently (RBs went for 2.9YPC).

If Bama were to run that same offensive plan against Tennessee or Ole Miss we would lose horribly. It might be somewhat effective against Texas.

It was an incredible win, dont let that convince you that our problems are all resolved. Our OL is banged up, our QB has trouble reading defenses and delivering the ball downfield right now and our defense is a mash unit.

That’s pretty much it. Bama is a running team. Our OP does a great job in run protection. Jalen and our Rb need to be running. If we pass 45 times a game we’re gonna lose against decent teams. As much as defense has improved they’re still young on back end. Control the game, control the clock and let the defense do what hit does best and get the offense some extra possessions

I don't disagree with what you and Teague are saying for the most part, I guess for me its the fact that we've cleaned up the penalties, turnovers, and missed assignments the last 6 quarters. 3rd down efficiency has mightily improved, and our oline is playing very physical now. Our biggest issues. And I do think that we can pass the ball efficiently. Jalen is capable. The UT game was somewhat of an outlier in that regard.

I agree here. Those things have been better.

Texas -> Ole Miss -> Ohio State is about as tough a potential road as I could imagine.

Auburn and Oklahoma are pretty solid on defense. At the very least, they’d be among the better defensive units we’ve played this year. I’d say Tennessee is the best we’ve seen. South Carolina is up there because of their bookends on the line of scrimmage. Georgia is Georgia. I think each are about equal to Mizzou who we really broke because of their QB situation in the 2nd half but they were salty.

Has an announcement been made for our game time against the Buggs?

Have to think A&M - Texas will be the primetime game and we’ll have the 2:30 slot.

Our OL is banged up ? Roberts could have played yesterday. It seems like our team has the same type of injuries that other teams have.

Yes we have at least two players playing through serious lingering injuries, Pritchett and Roberts.

Proctor missed time early in the season but I’m not sure if he’s dinged or just playing at a heavier weight than would be ideal.

Roberts has had to exit multiple games and a softer player would probably be sitting right now or getting surgery.

The fact that someone is on the field doesn’t mean they’re playing at 100%. If I had to guess I’d say Roberts is at 70% of his healthy level of play right now.

Here’s the secondary:
Sabb: out
Smith: in and out of availability all season, nowhere close to healthy
Red Morgan: has missed time
Brown: has missed time looks a little better now

That’s really not great with a unit that was young, new and thin coming into the year.

Thankfully Hubbard has been lights out and IMO has been an improvement in certain areas. Without him emerging it’s hard to say where we’d be right now, but I’ve seen fewer busts and missed tackles since he’s been out there.

If we made it through that it was a no freebie run of epic proportions.

Either way it’s going to be an exciting next couple of weeks.

The last thing we heard on that from DeBoer was "out for a while" after TSIO.

If it was a broken foot as rumored, hard to imagine he'd be back in the next few weeks but perhaps the playoffs if we make it?

Having a coach on the field really helps.

I don’t want to speculate because I have no idea what his diagnosis is.

Hubbard is doing more than ok out there so I’d imagine he’ll be back when he’s truly ready. To be better than Hubbard he needs to be close to 100% anyways IMO.

Probably the biggest surprise of the season, personnel-wise. He was not on many fan's radar as a contributor.

Will still be nice to get Keon back, but we have a dude in Hubbard. He keeps getting better every week.
