A reporter asked Jalen today about this guy and how Kalen used him as a runner at Sioux Falls
Lorenzo Brown Jr and Soph years
Lorenzo Brown Jr and Soph years
quote:
Brown threw for 3,221 yards and 40 touchdowns to only six interceptions. He completed 68% of his passes and led the NAIA with a 190.5 pass efficiency rating. On the ground Brown was the Cougar's second leading rusher with 844 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, while averaging 6.0 yards per carry.
2008: Brown was the centerpiece of the powerful Cougar offense. He had the ability to pass the ball completing 59.5% of his passes and throwing 25 touchdowns while only throwing 7 interceptions. Not only was he good with his arm, his feet were just as good, if not better. He ran the ball for 785 yards on 150 carries and 14 touchdowns.

Hmmmm. Looks like Barrett Sallee is no longer with CBS sports. Great news !
Such an obnoxious dude going back to his Bleacher Report days.
He'll always be the guy that called for an Ole Miss beatdown of 'Bama in 2018 saying the Tide had no hope of covering those receivers.
Final score: 'Bama 62 Ole Miss 7
His predictions haven't gotten any better.

Anything NAIA should be taken with a grain of salt, especially when it’s coming from 2008 when spread offenses that utilized QB’s legs were unheard of. That was the era where Michael Vick was seen as a unicorn for running it multiple times in a game instead of sitting in a pocket
For all we know those are backyard football rushing yards given the quality of play at that level
What we do know is that over multiple years in FBS DeBoers offense has never highlighted heavy run options for a quarterback. Doesn’t make it impossible, but it certainly showcases that the scheme is pass oriented

I think the idea is that DeBoer will maximize the talent he has. Meaning if Milroe is a better runner than thrower we are going to see him run more and not throw as much. DeBoer does not seem like the type of coach to force a square into a round hole. DeBoer's history seems to indicate he will get the most out of his players and lean on what they are best at.
Also how many time did Milroe gain rushing yards was it designed that way or was he scrambling once the pocket collapsed?

Deboer interview with DraftKings. Couple weeks old but still pretty good.
I had forgotten about Mike Golic.

JMO. This has to be the smoothest coaching transition ever.

I hope we all agree at the end of the season. Looks that way before we play a game.

Jonathan Allen was and is a bad dude. We need about 10 of him on defense.

Yep. One of my all-time favorite Tide players.
It was pure gold when they interviewed him in the locker room after the semifinal game against Mich St. in 2015, and the reporter says “38 to nothing, teams just don’t do that in the semifinals of the college football playoffs” and without missing a beat, JA tells him “Alabama Does.” An absolutely frickin perfect response.
