Gonna take this one down as well. Keep the discussion going, but I'm dropping the sticky.

Good post. I’m definitely disappointed this year but have a lot less invested than some on here. Guess I am more of a casual fan of college baseball.

But I do like keeping up. Thanks for taking the laboring oar on a lot of news, updates. I’m sure that takes a little time and effort.

How big does that sweep by South Carolina look today? And those midweek losses to shite teams? Every time this year there was a glimmer of hope and they made you think they had turned a corner, they would follow it up with a herp derp collapse against a cupcake. A lot of that is just mental toughness and determination. The burner under Bo’s seat is lit.

Bo should be gone. Soon as the announcement today was made.

I mean I agree. He's not getting fired for being on the bubble and missing the tournament in the first year he truly underperformed. He's just not.

If we do it again next year? Yea, it's a legitimate possibility.

Just finished listening to the Bama Baseball ’space’ (podcast?) that Paul Graham does each week. Several speakers contribute. Here are some highlights of what was said:

Per D1 baseball, we currently have 3 players in the portal (more are expected):
Jake Eddington (mentioned in an earlier post)
Graham Crawford
Jimmy Theis

They said to expect about half the roster to turnover through draft, graduation, and transfer. Also mentioned the ‘COVID expansion’ in roster numbers starts decreasing next year and goes back to normal the following year. Bama has signed 17 for next year but will likely lose some to the draft, so all won’t be on campus. Also said to not be surprised if some players who played a lot (i.e. almost every game) to perhaps check out transfer options. Some concern was expressed that programs may try to poach some of the better players (speculation only).

None of this is official - just fans of the program, some who appear to be close to the program, talking about what they think may happen. It’s about all we have left to do at this point….

One of the fans compiled a list of where players were currently planning to be this summer. It’s not a comprehensive list. Hopefully the University will put out something in the next few weeks.

We better hit the portal hard, and not miss. That isn't exactly encouraging news but it's baseball and it happens a lot

That was another point of discussion in that podcast/space - about how A&M built this year’s team from the portal (I think 10 players) and after a bumpy start, they started playing as a team and are now hosting. Comment was made that they didn’t miss on anyone they took from the portal.

Related in a way to Bama baseball since the Tide handed them three of their most recent losses. A poor and inexcusable decision and one that will cost him. Can you imagine Chris Stewart or Roger Hoover ever doing something like this to a Crimson Tide athlete?

My usual assumption when I read about someone making a statement like that is that it won't look as bad in context. That was actually worse in context. He wasn't talking about the guy doing some dirty, unsportsmanlike bullshite. Reacting that way to a college kid giving an interview answer you didn't like is...yikes.

They also hired one of the most respected coaches in the country who in turn hired the best pitching coach in college baseball for his staff.

Pretty silly to expect anything like that from us this offseason.

That is pathetic. Look, if a guy is a problem off the field, have at it. But if your issue is the team is struggling (which this clearly seems to be) then that's just unacceptable.

He has always tried to be the "anti-homer" so bad which I can respect at a base level but went way too far with it. Thankfully even the unhappy fan base sees he went way over the line.
