Say what you want. You guys deny reality - only one player on this defense would sniff the field from 2011-2018 defenses from BAMA. Keep hoping - but hope does t win big games!

Secondary has been a cluster this year. Veteran group so no excuse. The other big issue is we legit do not have a dominant DL this year. Mathis is a tough, blue collar vet and I appreciate him but we are missing that future 1st rounder that disrupts every other play. Must be some pretty big eval misses on DL, that or Roach is not very good. Overall, super disappointing with this defense in general. Anderson being the exception.

If your opinion is different than theirs, they mentally can’t handle it. It’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.

Here’s a quick guide….

If Bama is elite, say we’re elite
If Bama is average, say we’re elite
If Bama sucks, say we’re elite.

Hellams is complete trash, but they refuse to hear it and accept it.

They can’t stand negativity on this board. The overall opinion is that BAMA is horrible on d. However, they cant handle it and they think their make-believe world is crumbling if an honest perspective is shared that threatens “all things BAMA” approach to life.

Not denying reality at all. I’ve been a part of this sport since I was young. My credentials are useless, but I at least have reasons to back up my opinions.

Some can’t, that’s true. But there are definitely some who are much worse in their entitlement that any flaw means the sky is falling.

Sometimes, a game is just a game, and an opinion is just an opinion. I just try to keep my expectations leveled based on what I see on film.

I don’t think it’s that people aren’t willing to accept criticism of the team, however there wasn’t much actual content to your post. Just sounds like bitchin and moanin. And if that’s not bad enough, then you whine because other ppl don’t want to join in on the bitch fest. Tbh you come across as a bit of a pussy

Josey has always been a Negative Nancy. Usually prediicts a loss or close win. Always has. He’s an old school Bama fan who lived through the Bear years of the 60s and 70s. He’s Bama to his bones but his default mode is “We’re gonna fvk it up.”

Cowboy do you live across the street from me?

I can remember sitting in front of that black and white TV in 58 watching The Coach Bryant show at 8 years of age. Little did I know the captain of that team would be my high school head coach in 64 (Robert Bobby Smith).

I was going to play for Coach Bryant but I had one big problem in 67 and that I wasn't good enough.

Everybody that is lucky enough to get one of those red jersey's is looking but they're not All Americans.

I don't know that they're not dominant, or certainly capable, but I do think their play matches the overall theme of this year's team - inconsistent.

For comparison's sake, this year's team has more sacks and TFL's than all of 2011's year, and have already outpaced last year's totals as well. While those stats don't paint a full picture, they are pretty clear that the DL is certainly capable.

There is no improving this defense. It is what it is. We will end the season with a disgusting face palm.

You're quite wrong, troll. Major improvements have already been accomplished a few times: against Ole Miss, Miss St. & Tenn. -- by deploying a simpler/safer scheme with 5 DBs, zone pass coverage and without stupid delayed blitzes -- eliminating miscommunication, confusion, and busted assignments. Golding should've used the same simpler/safer scheme vs. TAMU & Arky. The defense may or may not improve down the stretch, but proclaiming that it cannot improve is idiotic pessimism posted for the sake of trolling.

Yet but saying there is "no improving" is just a dumb comment. Everyone knows how flawed the defense is this year but to say there is no improving it is a troll comment

Give me a break, man. How many of our sacks this year are from DL? You know good and darn well the vast majority of our sacks are from our LB's (mainly one). Outside of Mathis, our DL production this year (sacks, pressures, TFL) have been garbage. And Mathis (our most productive DL) is AT BEST a 3rd or 4th round pick, and that may be generous. That is unusual for the Saban era. We typically have at least one monster like Ashawn Robinson, Jonathan Allen, D. Payne, Q. William or Darius creating huge issues on the line of scrimmage. Not so this year, and it does make a difference.

Bama can out talent AU. If Finley has his Stephen Garcia game vs Bama next Sat, it will be a head scratcher to say the least.

That said, either way, Bama plays UGa.

Their D is incredible, but Bama's offense can challenge it.

Unless JT Daniels comes in to open the passing game, Bama's D as is will be equally challenging for UGA's Bennett led offense.

Should be a really good Championship game. Potential is there for either team to bust it open one way or the other, that is the nature or the game.

In no case will it or should it be a face palm. The pressure will be on UGA. I can see a loopy IB, but think Bama plays as well as they have all year in the CG.

I am no F troll

My point even poorly presented is this defense is made of 10 average guys and 1 star so how in the hell can you expect them to be more than average/good? The entire secondary has poor ball skills and little football savvy. When was the last time you saw one of our three safety's break on the ball (2,3,9)? Never is the word.

Does Charles Kelly a poor safety coach? I would love to hear him Mic'ed up for a game. I bet you Bob has heard new words from Charles after sitting by him in the box for 11 games.

Blaming it on coaches is easy. After 11 games we're where we were in the 2nd half of the Gator game (defense).

Some of this is player IQ.

This defensive line is the best run stopping defensive line we've had since 2016.

Defensive Line TFL Per Game
2021 - 2.32
2020 - 1.96
2019 - 1.50
2018 - 3.03 (Q-Williams 1.30 of those)
2017 - 2.32
2016 - 2.10
2015 - 2.60

And keep in mind that doesn't include any of Will Anderson's production - solely Mathis, Young, Smith, etc.

Rush Yards Per Attempt (P5)
2021 - 2.99
2020 - 3.33
2019 - 4.25
2018 - 3.03
2017 - 2.64
2016 - 1.99
2015 - 2.58
2014 - 3.35
