Herman is the most obvious choice and would be a slam dunk. Offense wasn’t really the problem at Texas, and he has the Ohio State/Houston track record as well.

Phil Longo at UNC is one less-sexy name no one has mentioned here. I have been impressed with his scheming the last 2 years.

UNC scored 41.7 ppg this year (10th nationally) and had 537 yards per game.

QB: Sam Howell: 237/348 (68.1%) for 3,586 yards, 30 TD to 7 INT

Had two 1,000 yard rushers:
Michael Carter: 156 rushes, 1,245 yards, 9 TD
Javonte Williams: 157 carries, 1,140 yards, 19 TD

Had a 1,000 yard WR:
Dyami Brown: 55 receptions, 1099 yards, 8 TD

Don't like Longo. It's 2018 Alabama style RPO all the time offense that can carve up some teams and go incredibly cold against others.

He's a fine OC, just not the path I'd want to see us take.

I dunno how I feel about Herman. I don't see it happening either way. I have a feeling it will be some pro coach we know nothing of and we won't find out anything for 2 more weeks

I'd be more concerned about player relationships than his playcalling. He's a good playcaller. He's also a fricking a-hole.

Just say no to Longo. He puts up pretty numbers but when push comes to shove he overthinks things and gets his shite pushed in, just like last night.

I feel like every name that is thrown out will not be hired, Saban usually thinks outside of the box for his hires. I can see an up and comer or someone from the NFL

I will be really interested to see if he goes after Tom Clements one more time. After that, I think Josh McDaniels or Jason Garrett might be on the short list.

i got zero interest in herman. not interested in any reemployment of former oc's either. saban has credited freeze with his change of offensive philosophy. but with freeze there's a heavy price. maybe not right now, but when saban does retire, boom. so, as much as i'd like to see the offense under freeze, no, nope, nata, not worth it.

go find another daboll. we got to see one half of a game with his real offense. just include the ability to teach qb's and recruit, simple...

Looks like Holman Wiggins is following Stark to Texas.

The guys I would hate to lose, in order of importance

1. Huff
2. Flood (probably gone)
3. Banks
4. Scott
5. Sal

Everybody else I like, for the most part, but not gonna lose sleep over.

I think it would be devastating to lose Flood.

Same for Huff, Scott and Banks. Saban finally found guys who can recuit and coach.

Those are hard to replace and we already have quite the job trying to find Sark's replacement.

Hopefully Sark will show respect and love like Pruitt.. not be a snake like Kirby.

Does he have some previous ties to Sark? Seems like a lateral move unless Sark is going to give him an OC or CO-OC type of position. Or maybe Wiggins would just prefer to live in Austin than Tuscaloosa? Again, seems like a lateral move.

I hope Sark doesn't pull Flood. I know that they were on the Falcons staff together, and I have heard that Sark was the one that recommended Flood to Saban. But being on the staff for a couple of years together in Atlanta doesn't mean they are best friends. And again, that would seem to be a lateral move unless Sark gives him an OC type position.

This constant staff turnover drives me crazy. Is this normal for other teams?

Flood needs a raise and a new title

Nope, this is unfortunately what comes with having the absolute best program in all of college football...of all time.

But how Dabo has kept his staff together as well as he has is a little baffling. They are basically the second best program in college football right now. I guess it just shows how much more respect Saban and his program has in the college football community that Dabo and his program has.

It’s because Venables doesn’t want to be a HC. He’s probably fine with the more limited responsibilities of a DC.

Definitely agree. Heck, give him an associate offensive coordinator title like Kelly has an associate defensive coordinator title. Or if need be, make him a Co-OC or running game coordinator along with whoever our next OC/passing game coordinator/play caller is.

Do whatever it takes outside of making him the sole OC/play caller (unless Saban really thinks he is capable of taking on that role).

Yep, and they lost their main OC to South Florida last year.

Would not want Dabo at Bama since he told Day after the game to "go out and win it all." If you are pulling against your Alma Mater to win a NC, from a team (OSU) that just exposed you, he's not the guy we would need after the Goat.
