If we're about to lose, Young plays. Question is, does the staff wait until the game is out of reach. This game is MUCH closer than people think without Young.
I just can't imagine a scenario where this game would be out of reach at any point, even with Milroe playing. Texas A&M is bad at stopping the run. We are among the best teams at running the ball, especially with a game-breaking freak athlete at QB if he were to start. That could get VERY ugly for A&M.
They are ok at stopping the pass, but the only good passing team they've played all year picked them apart. I mean, do you just think that Milroe is THAT bad?
Please, help me understand where you are coming from.

Just imagine this same game last year. Imagine the Texas game this year.
I don't think this game is going to go that way, but without a real passing threat, it's got a lot better chance.

Is it closer because A&M is down 5 starters too?

Neither other those games were ever out of reach, especially the Texas game.
I guess I see an explosive run attack with Milroe at QB, because the only thing we really have to go by was what we saw against Arkansas. Some on here(not you Teague) act like Milroe is incapable of completing a forward pass.

1. Max Johnson
2. Ainias Smith
Who else is out for this game?
I know Jordan Spasojevic-Moko is, but wasn't he 2nd string?
Jaylon Jones is day-to-day, right?

This is a really tough call.
We need to win vs A&M but we also need Bryce to be able to throw without issue.
The worst case scenario is it gets re-aggravated and it lingers the rest of the season.
This reminds me of Tua...
Maybe the best idea is to play him in the first half. Try to secure a big lead by 3 TDs and then let Milroe close the game out.

Perhaps that plan of treatment was the reason he missed his freshmen year in the NFL (not able to participate in the NFL combine because he couldn't throw.)
I believe he hurt the shoulder when the huge NT from UT tackled him.

How do you think A&M will score points? We are good for 28-30 with Milroe at least.

According to the Aggies, they're expecting to be without:
Jaylon Jones
Tyreek Chappell
Trey Zuhn
Max Johnson
Ainias Smith
Tunmise Adeleye
McKinnley Jackson
Andre White Sr.
Jordan Spasojevic-Moko
Zuhn may play, but he went deep into the week without practicing.

No excuse for all those players they bought!

I really don't think they'd make this decision yet. I truly believe it'll be determined during warm-ups on Saturday.

I don't think that's accurate. He has to go through workout on Saturday morning before deciding.

This. Their offense is terrible. Like 105th in total offense and 108th in scoring offense bad.
If our D can't shut them down and take the pressure off the offense then it's not going to matter much whether Bryce or Jalen plays the rest of the year cuz we'll be in trouble.

AJ said on Twitter that he had the same injury at Bama twice and didn’t miss any time. They just shot his shoulder up before the game and played on.
It can depend on the severity of the sprain. If it's stretched or frayed (Grade 1), it might simply be a pain-management issue.
(Anything more, Grade 2+, and it could be weeks of treatment — so just based on the nature of the comments coming out thus far, one could assume Bryce is probably on the lower end at this point.)
AC joint injection can provide significant relief and allow "playing through it," but quarterbacks and receivers are more susceptible due to the range of motion required.
Anecdotally/personally, I think the best-case scenario for these injections is among pure-contact positions, such as a running back or linebacker, for example. In that case, they are usually introduced along with additional padding on top of the shoulder (underneath the usual shoulder pads), to prevent point-loading on that site.
In other words, I certainly believe AJ, but his issue may have involved particular circumstances that we just can't equate with Bryce. Hopefully they are similar, with similar results.

Similar injury but not the same. Severity of the sprain varies from sprain to sprain even for the individual. And, throwing mechanics, body type, pain threshold, etc make comparing similar injuries from person to person even less valid.
I have no idea how bad the situation is for Bryce, but I do feel Bama doesn't need him for aTm. I'd prefer he sit to avoid aggravating or worsening it before UTk if at all possible.
Yes, it might mean a step back in the rhythm with WRs that has been getting much better, but it also seems the safer bet as Bama needs him running the offense this year for their best shot at a NC, IMO

It’s not accurate.
Bryce can play but from what I’ve heard Milroe will play and they will see how it goes.
