Damn you SOG and you're completely interesting/heart-breaking stats!

Not to nitpick, but we are 2-2 in our last 4.
You could change it to lost 5 of 7 though.
Great work as always, George.

The ( ) is what we did immediately following the high mark - but yea you are right there are more options to show the frustration

Ah, I misread - my apologies.

Of course it could also be noted that 2011 and 2013 (and 2020 for that matter) were undone by swoons in November/December as opposed to February (though we also had some streaks in February).
2011 - lose 3 straight in Puerto Rico, 5 of 7 overall (including games to bad 13-18 Seton Hall, 11-20 Iowa, St Peters and 15-17 Providence)
2013 - lose 3 straight in December, 5 of 6 overall (including games to 17-14 Dayton, Mercer and Tulane)
2020 - lose 4 of 6 in November (including games to Penn, 10-16 UNC and 11-15 Iowa St)
Come to think it of it, the template for Alabama basketball reaches far beyond just the end of the season. Chart expanding, check back soon.

This breakdown is even more depressing and incredible from a what are the odds standpoint than even I could have imagined

The silver lining is that I have built up a pretty good whiskey collection to cope with Alabama sports.

We just have to become better at seeing the signs and preparing. Maybe an early warning system. Required emotional evacuations.

I don't know why you guys do this to yourselves every year.

I'm copy/pasting my response on tRant topic about projected SEC Tourney seeding, which of course has us playing Kentucky in the second round, if we got past A&M.
quote:
In the last 13 seasons, Kentucky has ended Alabama's SEC tourney run 8 times, including the last 4 in a row! During that same time, Alabama has only beaten Kentucky 5 times total.
As a fan of both teams, just once, I'd like to see them on opposite sides of the bracket.
2019: Alabama beats Ole Miss and then loses to Kentucky
2018: Alabama beats A&M and Auburn before losing to Kentucky
2017: Alabama beats MSU and USC before losing to Kentucky
2016: Alabama beats Ole Miss and then loses to Kentucky
2011: Alabama beats UGA and then loses to Kentucky
2010: Alabama beats USC and then loses to Kentucky
2007: Alabama loses to Kentucky
2006: Alabama loses to Kentucky
Kentucky currently holds a 12 game winning streak over Alabama in the SEC tournament, dating all the way back to 1983.

I don't know why but that 12 game win streak Kentucky has over us in the SEC tournament since 1983 feels like it should read "since 2008". I feel like we get grouped with them every year in the tournament. Just once I would like to not be on the same side as them

The T A&M loss at home was it for me. I will not get my hopes up again. 14-12 with 5 to play is deja full all over again. If I hear the word ‘bubble’ again I might explode. I’ll see what Oats can do next year.
