Teams that look terrible so far this year

I know teams can sometimes turn things around but so far this season, the teams I've seen that look hapless are:
1. Florida-God love 'em, they're already in a death spiral and just terribly coached. Clearly, Napier is miles over his head there. They're hapless, have a rough schedule and no QB (Graham Mertz scares no one, he's terrible and Lagway isn't ready yet). I expect a lot of the players to quit on Napier soon.
2. FSU-Holy crap, they're TERRIBLE. I know they lost a lot of people but they're just terrible. Like Florida, they have no QB and recruited poorly at the QB position and now they;re paying dearly.
3. UCLA-poorly coached, not fundamentally sound and not a lot of talent. HC DeShaun Foster is clearly in over his head. He stands on the sidelines with that deer in the head lights look on his face all the time. WTH were they thinking hiring this guy?
4. MIssissippi State-I think they'll eventually get it turned around to being a decent team but they have pretty much no talent and it shows.
Did I miss any other team?

NC State has looked pretty awful. 4 quarters needed to beat Western Carolina, blown out by Tennessee, 4 quarters needed to beat La Tech.
Arizona has been pretty bad, too. Late, close games with New Mexico and Northern Arizona and a beatdown from Kansas State.
I never really got the offseason hype for them but people seemed to think West Virginia would be good. They've stunk.

Napier was a former Saban guy who went to Louisiana Layfette, a team that went 4-8. 6-7, and 5-7 in the 3 years before Napier got there and he led them to 7-7, 11-3, 10-1 and 12-1.
It looked like he could legit coach. I don't know what's happened at Florida.

How did you leave Auburn off the list? Dominated on both lines of scrimmage at home by a lower tier Pac team and then struggled against New Mexico at home.
Might be a long season for them.

When I saw that Malik Benson was gonna be WR1 for Florida State I knew they were in for a very long season. DJU is terrible and the entire offense is just putrid

Nah man, they got a new QB that looked good at home against New Mexico. They're probably a playoff team now.

I think Napier is a good coach at the right program. Maybe not at a P5P, but maybe at Louisiana, Southern Miss, Arky St. programs like that.

Napier has had a brutal schedule pretty much since he first got to UF. IIRC his first recruiting class kind of fell apart too near the end and while he’s still getting some talent, it’s not at the level it should be. Throw in hitching his wagon to Mertz and there you go. I’ve always been a big Napier guy, has a lot of fans in North Alabama but best thing for him is to go back to the G5 and try again eventually somewhere else.

Michigan looks pretty average without McCarthy.

There's something going on at Florida. It seems like there's an element who actively try to sabotage their HCs behind the scenes. Every coach after Urbs has had a current of drama behind the scenes, it seems like, from the moment they're hired. Very RichRod at Michigan-ish.

You mean without stealing signs?

Mullen went 10-3, 11-2, 8-4, 5-6 and got fired. In retrospect they should have given him another year. He finished ranked in the top 15 every year except the 4th. Imagine what he would have done with Anthony Richardson.

Maybe not terrible, but Kansas’ offense has been very disappointing. UNLV and Illinois aren’t outright awful but I doubt Kansas fans thought they’d be 1-2 scoring 17 and 20 respectively

Is a scummy coach. I'd have never wanted my son's to play for him.

Mullin (and his staff) were freakishly lazy on the recruiting trail in the state of Florida. Moreover, Mullin did little to nothing to build good relationships with the state HS coaches in FL. It’s not surprising his recruiting was so mediocre.

He actually is better ( I guess) on tv than I thought he would be , but I have heard him speak several times at HS coaching clinics and the guy is a complete prick . Made me sick when he was a rumored candidate as OC one time under Saban

I’d take Mullen as OC under Saban because you’d never hear him speak. You are right though, on tv he is ok but in life he does come off as a arrogant guy.

I agree. Florida pulled the trigger on Mullen too quick.

What makes you think that? They look like the worst SEC team since maybe 2014 Vanderbilt. They got blown out by Toledo. 6 of their remaining 8 games are against ranked teams, and they have four road games upcoming against current top ten teams. 2-10 is their most likely final record.

They can only go up from here. There is plenty of HS and JUCO talent in the state of Mississippi to field a decent team (one that goes 7-5 most years) if you have the right coach who can recruit. They also seem to get a few kids from Alabama/Louisiana that are pretty good but not good enough to sign with Bama or LSU who have a chip on their shoulder.
They have an under rated campus in terms of buildings and being pretty, people are genuinely freakishly nice there and while Starkville isn't Athens, GA or even Tuscaloosa, it does have a certain small town charm.
If Dan Mullen can do it there, a lot of coaches could be at least somewhat successful there. The main problem with MSU right now is the talent differential. Zach Arnett left the cupboard empty. However, with some decent recruting and a good HC, MSU can be Kentucky like most years.
