Our best hope is Bryce will keep getting better each week and takeoff and run when forced since he does that pretty good. I believe Bama can take both LSU and Ark but when we go to play the Barn it would be best if this bunch could get some better but I am into wishful thinking again.

Not sure what the plan was to get #8 going again as a receiver but hope that continues. The trade on taking the OL as is vs getting the receiving corp playing at a higher level would be a good tradeoff.

I think pass pro has been pretty good. Not the best but enough. Obviously RT gets beat sometimes and so does the C.

In all fairness we shouldn’t really see any issue until maybe Auburn but UGA is the dude. Those front 4 will test the absolute shite out of the C and RT. I would say screw it and go max protect. Bryce is good enough to throw from the pocket.

It is shocking with our recruiting on the OL that we are in this predicament. This has to fall on coaching to some degree. Those UGA DT’s will smoke Dalcourt like a cheap cigar if we even get there. Dalcourt and Owens are not Bama level OL. They are the type of guys you expect to see playing for Louisville or Miss State.

Our best hope is to continue to simplify the defense, hope we get better when Drew Sanders gets back, and hope Young keeps getting better and better with the deep stuff and running it, while our TEs and WRs stop dropping balls. We have to scheme around this OL to have a shot at UGA and maybe AU which is ridiculous.

Maybe we should put Ekiyor at C, Brown at RG & Kight (listed as #2 LT) at RT:

LT - Neal
LG - Cohen
C - Ekiyor
RG - Brown
RT - Kight

O-Line (16+1^)
Gr: C Owens*^
Sr: K Randolph*
Jr: T Brown*, E Neal, E Ekiyor*, D Dalcourt
So: T Bowles*, P Quick*, A Kight*, J Cohen
Fr: D George*, S McLaughlin*
Fr: T Brockermeyer, J Brockermeyer
Fr: T Ferguson, JC Latham, J Roberts

Coach Saban had the balls to put Tua in at half-time to shake things so I wish he would do that with some switching around with the OL.

Something big picture to think about, Saban will play the odds every time. So odds, Vegas etc all say we should win every remaining game with the UGA game giving us a chance not absolute. So you 95% win every single game minus maybe a 60% UGA game with the current configuration of your team, with 0 changes. Kind of like playing prevent defense at a certain stage in a game and you play the odds a miracle doesn’t happen.

Well the odds are Georgia will kick Bama in the teeth if nothing changes, so hopefully Saban is looking at those odds because those are the only ones that matter if we hope to win any sort of championship this year.

Alabama had like 21 passing yards and zero points in the first half. That probably made for a pretty easy decision

I know, but Brown does have OT experience and is physically equipped (6-7/309) for it. Also, Amari Kight (6-6.5/315) is listed as our #2 LT. So maybe he's a better option than Owens at RT. I'm just not convinced that we're actually starting our "best five" combination.

If none of these dudes can beat out Owens or Dalcourt then... I guess the program is up shite creek for the next three to four years.

I was expecting our starting five OL group to be excellent (with solid depth) this year, especially by mid season.

Half those guys are freshmen. OL is probably the hardest position to play as a young player, especially in this conference.

WTF happened to Pierce Quick ?

I watched him play in the AA or UA game against good comp and he had great feet. I thought he could have been a great C or guard prospect

I remember seeing photos of Tanner Bowles on his recruiting visit- he was making other large dudes look small.

JC Latham and Tommy Brockermeyer were called two of the better OL to come out of any class in years.

Tommy Brockermeyer was called the most advanced OL to come along in years from any class.

This is probably the first year Quick has been north of 280. He put on 26 pounds from Spring to Fall, which might've been too late. Some younger guys got in front of him that were more physically ready.

The Brockermeyer's came in similarly, both put on the freshman 15 by fall camp...

Tommy Brockermeyer struggled in spring, mostly at LT. I dont think he has the size to play RT this season.

Latham is the guy most people thought could step up. Hard to understand why he's not making a better push for PT.

True, but Kight has size and is a redshirt soph. It's his 3rd season at Bama.

I get the sense that none of the young pups can take the job from the old dog. They haven't let their nuts drop. Some never do.

It's slightly alarming that, as of now, the 2022 OTs will have little to no experience. I don't think they'll kick Cohen back outside, so seems it'll be new guys.

TIFWIW I've heard Marrone is looking for "his guys", whatever that means.
