Lay it out if any of y'all have it. College football is such a shite show that it's hard to keep up.

USC to beat Oregon for 1 and see how far they drop them.
We need people we beat to win and team close to us to lose.

I think the Missouri game is key as the would move up up to #9. If Oregon could also lose that would get us to #8 and I feel pretty good right there

Vandy, Missouri, and *gag* Tennessee tomorrow.

Outside of the SEC, Syracuse upsetting Notre Dame would be awesome. USC beating Oregon might help us depending on what the committee does. It would likely knock Oregon out, (1-1 against currently ranked teams) but they could move USC into the top 10 (1-2 against currently ranked teams.) Cincinnati beating BYU would be good too.

Next week, Missouri and probably Mississippi State winning would be best for Alabama.

Outside of the SEC, I’m rooting mostly for everyone to lose except us. The one caveat is, I think Ohio State beating Michigan helps us more than an upset. Some people are still talking Michigan being in the playoffs and I don’t want the committee deciding between us and them for the final spot.

Kentucky (5-5) at No. 14 Vanderbilt (8-2)
2:30 p.m. on ESPN in Nashville,
Root for: Vanderbilt

This result actually has great significance to the Crimson Tide. If Vanderbilt wins, a win over Auburn should all but put Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. But if Kentucky wins this game, it opens the door for the possibility of the Crimson Tide missing the conference title game even with a win over Auburn. Then if Arkansas beats Missouri the following week and Tennessee beats Vanderbilt (with all other favorites winning their SEC games), the Crimson Tide would finish fourth in the SEC, according to this helpful calculator. Georgia would get the second spot in Atlanta because of conference opponent win percentage.

Here’s an explanation, and buckle up because it’s not simple:

In a scenario where Georgia, Ole Miss and Alabama each finish 7-1 in conference play, the tiebreaker gets more complex than head-to-head because Alabama and Ole Miss didn’t play each other. (Alabama has a win over Georgia but Georgia has a win over Ole Miss). The round-robin scenario in the first level of tiebreakers doesn’t apply then. So for that group of three, the SEC has to move to the next tiebreaker, which is record against all common conference opponents. But that doesn’t break the tie either because they didn’t all three play the same opponent. So it moves to the next tiebreaker, which is “record against highest (best) placed common conference opponent in the conference standings, and proceeding through the conference standings among the tied teams.” Again, that doesn’t work either because they don’t all three have a common conference opponent.

So it’s onto the next tiebreaker, which is “cumulative conference winning percentage of all conference opponents among the tied teams.”

Georgia would have the edge in this scenario.

But if Vanderbilt beats Kentucky, Alabama should be on track to get the No. 2 spot in the SEC and a spot in the SEC Championship Game because of the conference opponent win percentage tiebreaker.

So if you want Alabama to play for the SEC title, root for Vanderbilt against Kentucky. If you don’t want Alabama to play for the SEC title, root for Kentucky against Vanderbilt.

No. 22 Missouri (7-3) at No. 8 Oklahoma (8-2)
11 a.m. on ABC in Norman, Oklahoma
Root for: Missouri

No. 20 Tennessee (7-3) at Florida (3-7)
6:30 p.m. on ABC in Gainesville, Florida
Root for: Tennessee (but if you don't, I would not blame you)

No. 13 Miami (8-2) at Virginia Tech (3-7)
11 a.m. on ESPN in Blacksburg, Virginia
Root for: Virginia Tech

No. 15 Southern Cal (8-2) at No. 7 Oregon (9-1)
2:30 p.m. on CBS in Eugene, Oregon
Root for: Southern Cal

Syracuse (3-7) at No. 9 Notre Dame (8-2)
2:30 p.m. on NBC/Peacock in South Bend, Indiana
Root for: Syracuse

Kansas State (5-5) at No. 12 Utah (8-2)
3 p.m. on ESPN2 in Salt Lake City, Utah
Root for: Kansas State

No. 18 Michigan (8-2) at Maryland (4-6)
3 p.m. on Big Ten Network in College Park, Maryland
Root for: Maryland

No. 11 BYU (9-1) at Cincinnati (7-3)
Root for: Cincinnati

And of course like the first replay post said: Alabama

The only team we need to win the next 2 weeks is Bama. Win and we’re in.

Admittedly I would absolutely love to see Southern Cal get blown out and drop out of the top 25, giving Notre Dame zero ranked wins and Vandy winning out forcing the committee to say “well it doesn’t matter if they have no good wins, they have better losses and a weak schedule”

100% this. I don’t think we want a 2 loss Oregon and 2 loss USC sitting there if we lose the SECCG.

IMO, we want Cinci to win today, Oregon to win today (can root for Washington to beat them next week), OU to drop either Miz or LSU, Miami to lose to Pitt next week (or an inspired VT this week given excitement about Franklin…not likely), Utah to drop one of the Kansas games the next 2 weeks, and Houston to lose just to make B12 look weaker with less ranked teams. Vandy winning this week and UT winning out (yuck) would help as well.

Missouri win, USC win would be great for us I think

A Cinci win would be some good insurance too

Also beating Auburn should move us ahead of Notre Dame since we’ll have full body of work, and we’ll be doing to a conference championship while ND holds their dicks

So, did today's results help us assuming Tennessee and Pittsburgh finish and win theirs? We need BYU to win or lose?

BYU losing helps us. However, Texas Tech must win in the B12 CG. This is all assuming we lose the SECCG. Otherwise we need no help and I don’t think we do anyway frankly.

Losing the SECCG and having BYU win tonight and then beat Texas Tech in the Big 12 CG is the only plausible scenario that probably keeps us out if we beat Auburn.

That’s my opinion as well.
