Hope he's not leaving because we are doing the dirt as well, although I am sure we probably are to a degree like everyone else.

I bet he’s leaving because he couldn’t handle the Saban arse chewings. He won’t be the first coach to not be able to handle the heat.

There's some talk that Graham didn't get along with O'Brien. Not sure how true that is though since I haven't seen it posted by anyone that I'd consider an "insider". It'll be interesting to see if Will Lawing gets his spot. I kind of hope we can get Jay Boulware myself.

This is what I'm thinking too, because according to another Bama website Saban was trying to talk him into staying

I hate it for Jay Graham. Mental health is important.

Damn - that sounds rough. Wonder if he lost quite a few people during all this and it all kind of collapsed in a new environment.
Either way, hope the dude is ok. That really sucks.

For sure. I hate to hear anyone having those kind of issues to the point where it affects their ability to carry out their career and/or calling. Praying he gets the help he needs.

Here’s the SI write up. Note: Saban meets with the media at 6 pm today.

Sucks we missed on Larry Scott
Tough time of year to find a top tier coach.
Internal promotion seems likely (old Scott Cochran missed his shot... )
But, Tom Herman just took an analyst job with the Bears. One has to wonder if getting an onfield position at the world's premier college coaching rehab center with Saban would be an enticing job for Herman.
Call him Asst HC and give him STs and TE. He has a good offensive mind and can recruit (keeps TX recruiting lines open). Plus, with the vaccine here, he can go back to kissing players.
would kind of love the hire.

I wonder if Kevin Swagcopter is going to get a call?

Complete douchebag, no thanks. Of course I thought the same thing about Lane when we first hired him

Uhh, Lane Kiffin is definitely a douchebag. He's a talented, intelligent douchebag. But those attributes have no impact on someone's level of douchebaggery.

I don't disagree at all. But, most really talented coaches also tend to be a bit douchey and/or assholish
Comes with it.

Might very well be the first analyst off the bench

If it's major depressive disorder, I think it would be cool if Graham went to John Hopkins to try psychedelic therapy. Turns out a lot of schedule 1 substances have a ton of medicinal value. There's been incredible results using LSD and mushrooms for severe depression and addiction. Mdma (ecstasy) is been incredibly successful helping treat veterans with PTSD. Obviously, they're not just giving them drugs, and they cured. But using them as a tool along with therapy. There's already been a lot published about it, and you'll probably see a lot more in the future.
But John Hopkins has spent millions opening they're psychedelic research unit. honestly, if not for that dumb, selfish frick Timothy Leary, this research would've been done 60 years ago. LSD was used in therapy and research throughout the 50s. Timothy Leary pretty much fricked that up singlehandedly. And then the boomers who used it to party, did such stupidly strong doses, that it became stigmatized for decades (less can be more).
In the end, I hope he gets the help he needs. Because mental illness is a fricking bitch. Not just to the people with it, but their friends and family too.
