I guess this is a bit late. Anyways,I've had a coworker say he didn't think Bryant-Denny was consistently loud during the Iron Bowl, and a friend say it was the loudest he'd ever heard it, particularly in the 4th quarter. I know not what to think. It definitely seemed loud on tv. What sayeth the Alabama Sports Board?

It was loud. Not game of the century loud, but still a very good atmosphere.

It seemed loud on TV when it was a close game. Got a little quiter when Auburn went up by a couple scores.

I thought it was going to be ear-splitting loud.

BDS had its moments, and was generally a good environment the whole game.

However, nothing will ever touch how loud it was during the first half of the 2010 Iron Bowl. I was truly afraid the structure was going to collapse after Cam's 3 sack series by Upshaw and Hightower.

After 3 first 3 picks the crowd shut up REAL quick, bt they got back into it before it was all said and done.

There were several times when I couldn't hear Eli through the ear buds.

I think the mid 3rd through the 4th Quarter was one of the most electric scenes I've ever seen in BDS. Place was just going nuts.

It's too bad Bryant-Denny can't be rocking like that more often. The blue hairs and the Bama mindset ("we're just the best, blah blah") keeps the stadium more tame than most others in the SEC. Just my humble opinion of course.

Well, it was pretty electric in the first quarter but everyone got a little nervous in the second quarter.

This is true. On the 75 yard bomb to Cooper, even though it didn't give us the lead, I think the whole stadium knew at that point that we were going to win.

It's no different than anywhere else. It took so much energy to be that loud Saturday. I actually got a headache and had to cool it a bit during the 3rd quarter. I talked to several friends who got headaches and neck cramps from screaming full force.

It was loud a good bit but it did get quiet a few times. We know how to pace ourselves.

Long ways to go to match 2005 UF game from start to finish...

...and 2009 UT for single moment outburst.

Think of Ragland and the pain he will inflict from here on out.

This is changing a bit IMO. The first major factor I noticed was that they were/are? threatening the Greek section with the possibility of losing their seats or at least having worse seats if they don't stay the whole game. This means more students are staying which certainly helps the atmosphere. The second major factor is that the PA guy is playing more music that gets younger fans hyped up. I really don't think some of the older fans can be bothered to stand up and cheer regardless of what is happening, so they seem to be appealing to the students.

Going to games is more fun now than it was in previous years because the school is actively trying to keep people there and make the atmosphere better.

That's great to hear. It should be one of the great football atmospheres in America period. Hope y'all keep it up.

I know when they kicked the stadium audio in when the broadcast first started.....it was REALLY loud...I was like "dey ready" I was off by a half because they were only ready in the 2nd.
