Serious question regarding Ryan Williams

If he doesn’t wear correctable lenses, do you think his eyesight might be bad and need correcting? I just don’t understand the drops. I don’t recall him dropping passes in high school or last year like he now does. His eyesight might need addressing seriously!

I was honestly wondering the same. The way he attempted to catch that ball last night and he wasn't even remotely close. Forget about elite, that looked like a pound ball receiver.

I don’t think Ryan Williams knows what’s wrong with Ryan Williams right now.
But that drop was brutal yesterday, his QB is struggling but put it on him and yet again he looked like a middle school DL with hand wraps trying to catch a football.

I sure hope he figures it out because the dude is electric when he actually catches the ball

He reached his hands out to high point the ball and it had already smashed him in the chest

Should he just become a possession receiver and not be relied on as a deep threat? His moves in the open field when he actually has the ball are fun to watch. Would be better than him not getting it at all.

Our average/below average coaches are wasting him and not developing him.

Honestly the way he catches a football is horrible. He doesn’t just drop passes he catches like a 5 yr old with his chest and forearms.

He looked “back” yesterday from an explosion standpoint… then given a huge opportunity to make a pretty pedestrian play that would’ve made a huge impact the drop issue immediately return.
I can excuse him for when he wasn’t explosive because I think his hamstrings are messed up.
His hamstrings aren’t causing him to drop the ball 8 times.

I don’t understand the downvotes but whatever. Thought it was a very good question. Watch him, especially on balls from a distance, it’s like he doesn’t really see it until it’s on him.

He looked like he was trying to not fully turn and land on his back. He was trying to catch himself

Ryan “Featherstone” Williams is a head case right now, poor vision or not.

Ryan and Ty are both head cases. Bama football needs a sports pyschiatrist. Maybe, they can help Grubb also. He acted liked he didn't give a crap at Seattle and from his performance with Bama it seems like things have not changed.

Obviously something is going on. That being said, with the state of this offense you have no choice but to find some way to get the ball in his hands. It's not like anybody else is really making anything happen.

He’s got the yips. When the ball is in the air he’s panicking. The drops have snowballed into a mental issue. It’s no different than a kicker being in a slump or a guy standing over 6’ putt that hasn’t made one in ages. He just has no confidence in himself.
The only way to get it back is through reps. It’s been an issue since game 1 with him and wasn’t really an issue last year. At this point it’s on Shep for not coaching it out of him through repetition. At his peak, he’s the best player on the team. It should have been a pretty important focal point of the coaching staff to have that guy playing his best football, because it changes the entire offense. Teams have to scheme around him when he’s on
