I believe BoB depends too much on pure execution than a scheme. That is the NFL plan but not so much at the college level.
With my Ray Charles glasses I just don't see why Nick would bring back BoB and Doug for another year. It looked good on paper.

My biggest takeaways are
- There is room for us to throw the ball. Georgia's pass defense is allowing like 75% of opponents averages, they've just barely played anyone who is a competent passing team. Arkansas and Tennessee are basically it, maybe Kentucky. The rest are just terrible, really. Clemson, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Florida are all at best average and mostly very bad passing teams. So their pass defense numbers are certainly a bit inflated.
Have you seen their defensive front? Our passing game was killed by Auburn blowing up our oline. This will be worse.

There has been a lot of "their schedule" talk, but the one that is by far the most factual is passing offenses played. The only one they have played that is competent and doesn't heavily require a run game is Tennessee......and Tennessee threw for 330 yards and 6.9 YPA. And their outside WR got hurt early in the game.
Pretty similar stats to when TN played us.
quote:
I feel pretty good about us against their run game. We've been excellent against every run game we've faced other than the weird Florida game which was heavily QB read option oriented with a new OLB and stuff we hadn't seen.
Agreed. However, we haven't really played a line it up and smash you in the mouth run game yet. UGA in second half of games has become road graders... We have been losing in the trenches lately, so I'm a bit concerned about this.
quote:
The biggest variables to me are can we find any semblance of a run game and can we consistently defend a quick passing game to backs and tight ends in a disciplined way. Monken will try and get us into as many switches as possible and Cook and Bowers are good enough to take a mistake on those and go to the house. If we have a fvck around and mentally breakdown in the secondary/LB coverage game we're going to have problems.
I wouldn't expect our defenders to lock it down. They have a nfl type bend but don't break strategy. The question will be...
1) Can we get them off the field in third down (see e long drives Arkansas and Aggies put together).
2) can our offensive oline find some backbone and provide some protection for our pass game. I guarantee that Boob will abandone the run game early.

Alabama has very little chance of staying with Georgia. It hurts my heart but anyone who watched us against Auburn knows that this weekend could be very painful. I dread seeing the Alabama offensive line against their front seven.

Pure chicken shite. I’m so sick of seeing the words “painful”, “dread”, etc.. we’re a damn underdog and it’s ok. There is no reason for half you to just lay down like this. They’re going to get our best game Saturday.

That's what I meant, more short yardage throws instead of trying to run into the teeth of their defense. I guess in the grand scheme of the prediction it doesn't matter if it a 2-4 yard rush or pass

I will get to enjoy this game. In any of the scenarios described above, I will be okay with the outcome. We have had a great season with a very green roster and a tumultuous transition in coaching staff. If Georgia gets to punch their ticket and dispatches us with ease, it will be fun to pull for them in the playoff. (Admittedly, it will be easier pulling for them knowing that the cupboard may be rather bare for them next year.
)

That's where I'm at, at this point in the season. For everything we lost off of last year's team, starting a new quarterback and multiple new faces on the offense, I really can't complain(about the players that is, coaches are a different story
) how this season has went and how it will end. We are SEC west Champs with a playoff appearance still obtainable with a win. If pure chaos happens this week, we could make the playoffs with a loss. I've really enjoyed watching this team grow to where it's at today and I'm proud of our guys and the fight they show week in and week out. Win or lose Saturday, this has been a successful and enjoyable season from my point of view. We're playing with house money at this point with nothing to lose, let's see what they got

We need iowa to win, and then we have a chance win or lose...It would be funny to play uga aging in the semi finals if we lost and beat them there.

So many chicken littles in this thread.
If we win that’s cool. If we lose the we regroup for the bowl game and use it as a spring board for next year. Bama will be very good next year regardless.
All this doom and gloom is ridiculous. It’s a game folks

Same thing against Clemson. They thought Wisconsin deserved to be 4 2017-18. And we didn't deserve to be in it much less beat Clemson
