Everyone knows you can't be critical of a black QB - it's racist.

at least twice, Kirk Herbstreit referred to him as a "1 read QB" during the game.

Yeah pretty sad when the announcers think your QB is so dumb that they're like "They need to make it easy for him so he doesn't have to read anything downfield."

How embarrassing. Sorry but Saban should've pulled him at halftime.

I’m sticking with my theory Saban knows the Pass Pro is not very good and he is leaving Milroe out there because he can at least evade the rush some

Our pass protection is fine outside of Dalcourt if the QB isn’t sitting on the ball for 7 seconds.

Its glaringly obvious that Milroe cannot read a defense. At all.

His positive passing plays were all to his first read and so were his INTs. I’d go so far as to say he’s significantly more limited in his field awareness than Hurts was as a TF.

My concern isn’t that he’s not able to process a functional defense.

My concern is that:
A) it’s obvious that was the case going back to A&M and A-Day
B) he started anyway
C) he wasn’t benched
D) we might not have anyone better

We are in deep ****.

Be careful saying that. I said that a month ago and people have labeled me a troll ever since.

I’m pretty sure his athletic traits are just blinding everyone and making them give him a chance

They see what he could be, but refuse to accept what he currently is.

The guy is a madden player with 99 speed, 90 arm strength and 50 awareness. If his awareness level was a 75 he could win a Heisman. But it’s not.

And until he can run a simple RPO offense at a level that would allow us to reach the teams ceiling he needs to be on the bench learning while someone who can get the ball to our playmakers is out there.

We don’t need Milroe to have a running game, we need a QB to empower the athletes we have all over the place to make plays.

I don’t think they wanted to shite in a kid via a national broadcast, it’s a bad look.

At the end of the game Herbstreit eve said that Bama has to take a look at playing one of the other QBs. It was too obvious that Milroe is going to be an issue if he’s the starter going forward.

To go from Tua to Mac to Bryce... it's just shocking to see our roster this unprepared/undeveloped at the most important position on the field.
Why?

How many of those guys do you think teams get?

Simpson just ain’t it, guys. This isn’t Milroe’s fault. If Alabama had the type of QB y’all want, Milroe would never see the field.

Y’all have convinced yourselves every highly ranked QB we get us going to pass the torch to the next as a NC winning 1st round pick. It just didn’t happen with Simpson and he’s most likely not very good at all.

It’s not shocking that Alabama FINALLY has some QB troubles.

ETA: Also, OP is trolling

There's a difference between having a Greg McElroy or JPW and starting a guy who literally cannot play quarterback

Hello troll

What are your opinions on Simpson’s intelligence level?

Did you see how many games Greg threw for 130-200 yards and looked like pure shite?

Do you realize what he would have looked like behind that line last night?

He would have looked completely inept.

Y’all are wild.

You're creating a false dichotomy. No one is saying that there's a first round pick on the sideline. Most of us are just asking for a quarterback with some pocket presence and the ability to go through at least one progression. The issue isn't that Milroe doesn't compare to Tua Tagovailoa, Bryce Young, or Mac Jones. It's that he doesn't compare to John Parker Wilson or Greg McElroy.

Milroe caused most of the sacks. He stepped into the blitz. Even Herbstreit said this.

He did that a few times.

Idk what that has to do with thinking Greg McElroy would throw for over 150 yards last night.

He couldn’t do it with a GOAT level OL and Julio Jones half the time.

So…Saban said he thought about pulling Milroe, what happens next week when he starts him again?

How long has Simpson been a pocket passer?

Why is nobody mad at him for having pocket presence?

Or so y’all think a QB with his skill and pocket presence is getting beat out by Milroe? That’s a bold idea.

If he thought about pulling him then he has to give all of the QBs a couple of first half series next weekend regardless of who is technically the starter.

South Florida has gone 1-8, 2-10, 1-11 this decade. They likely would miss the FCS playoffs in recent seasons and are the worst team on the schedule, probably by a significant margin even if you include Chattanooga. Expect big numbers from Milroe both running and passing with a few good looking deep balls when his first read is wide open. If Buchner doesn't get in until mid third quarter then you know there's no QB contest at all.
