If Bama fans were gonna be the reason Saban left then it would’ve happened a decade ago

Yea Bama fans are a huge pain in the arse sometimes, but Saban has already dealt with some crazy shite for it to run him off now.

Saban is just kissing this teams arse trying to pump them up. Coddling may be the way to get through to this team due to more deva personalities. Last years team was very mature and was full of leaders.

Just a young team that Saban is hoping he can’t boost up by supporting them vocally to the public. He is the best coach ever after all.

Saban is spot on about "self absorbed" fans:

Exhibit A | Exhibit B | Exhibit C

They aren't paid for playing football. It is a byproduct of finally allowing a player to earn income like every college student.

I don’t think we’re any different than any other fan base.

I disagree with this. The majority of fan bases would be tickled pink to just go to their conference championship much less the playoffs.

The team is currently 10-1 with a chance at not only winning the SECC but the NC once again. UGA right now might have their best team ever and their first chance to win a NC in over 40 years and yet are only a 4.5 favorite over us in Atlanta. Against a UA team that has struggled but won throughout the season. Yet we have fans that act like we are 5-6 hoping for a Liberty Bowl bid.

So I agree with Saban in part because many fans have bashed this team, the players(specific ones), the staff. But like he alluded to this season would be a triumph if was in 2007.

I do not look forward to boards like this when Saban retires because we will never experience another run like this.

Maybe it's the fact he's gone from "dominate your opponent/make their arse quit" to now "just be happy we won the game."

This. Don’t develop a dominating culture then get upset when fans get mad that the team isn’t dominating. How many times did he crawl Kiffin’s arse on the sideline over a bad play call? Now how many times has Saban crawled Golding/BoB? He spanked AJ McCarron on the sidelines on national tv for a bad play. Now he claps his hands after the defense gives up a 99 yard drive for a touchdown. He’s the GOAT but in my humble fan opinion, him attacking the fans for over this is a bad look.

It's been a great run and we all appreciate what CNS has done for the football team, the university, and for college football in general but let me get this straight: the coach that developed and installed The Process where everyone plays to a standard no matter the opponent or the score is butthurt because fans are trying to hold teams to that standard? What happened to "make his arse quit!"? And I don't think most fans are calling out players, I know myself and I think most of you are the same; I'm calling out coaches putting players on the field that are poorly prepared and unable to play to their potential, yet they run those same players out there week in and week out and wonder why fans bitch. That's doubly hard to understand and stomach when we have talent stacked 3 and 4 players deep at most positions that other teams would kill for, but they never see the field even when they see the player in front of them failing to perform his job well. That speech works both ways, coach. That isn't meant as an insult, just the cold, hard truth. Yes, Alabama fans are one of the worst, most entitled fanbases in the country. I'll admit that to anyone, but YOU helped set that bar of expectations. Instead of bitching at the fans, maybe you should look around and notice what they are bitching about. The standard isn't being met. Everything you said is true and should be taken to heart; we do love our team and our coach, but you aren't getting the performance you demand from everyone around you and fans are noticing.

Alabama's 10-1 and headed to the SECCG where if they win they'll surely be in the playoffs. They're ranked 3rd in the nation.
Saban recruited EVERY player on the team, and hired EVERY coach since he's been there. A couple of weeks ago the coach of EVERY team in the top-4 for the playoffs were either his protege or himself!
Now we're seeing stuff like this:
"The standard isn't being met.", and

you aren't getting the performance you demand from everyone around you and fans are noticing.

There are some folks around our fan base that really need to get a grip!

He's genuinely pissed off and I don't blame him. But he's talking to the media as much as sidewalk fans. And nothing he said is more true than 'we get everyone's best games, every week and I don't know why some people can't understand that!'

If they know that, then they need to come out with the mindset of domination. They need to be prepared that they are getting the best from the opponent, so we should be the best we can be .. Every time we step on the field. It's the standard we should be held to.

Now we got sidewalk fans telling Coach Saban and us about what our team's mindset should be, AND "It's the standard we should be held to."
WTF!!!

Bama fans have always wanted a national championship every year. In the 60s and 70s same. In the 80s, people never go used to being irrelevant. And after 92, there was constant dissatisfaction.

There was a short period of resignation after probation. But Bama fans normally want to be #1 and don't care for consolation prizes.

I'm sure coach knows this.

That's great!, but EVERY YEAR ain't gonna happen, so a bunch of bitching in public that players and coaches hear can be a big catalyst to speeding up an old coaches retirement plans.

I know because I'm older than Saban and if I started hearing a bunch of crap from a growing number of malcontents calling themselves "fans" after taking the program this far.....it wouldn't take long to say adios and head to the lake!
PS- he really doesn't need the money.

Not seeing what's wrong with the statement. You provide no explanation to why you don't agree. What do you think the mindset should be when you know the opponent is going to give you the best they have? Should it not be to be prepared for that and bring your A game every week? I'm confused as to why you have an issue here....
