It's that simple. RW could be a difference maker in this game. IU is technically sound but sometimes just having a freak athlete make 1 or 2 big plays is exactly how you produce the extra 10-14 points you need to overcome the competition.

Come on man..

Brooks literally caught a horrendous ball which gave our QB some confidence and followed that up with some more great catches.

Horton has some drops but caught 3 TDs against Auburn.

The more I read some of you guys posts the more it makes me realize many of you probably don't watch football outside of Alabama or pay much attention to what our opponents or these other top teams are doing.

They all drop balls. They all miss blocks. They all make bad throws.

The problem is when it's consistent drops, misses, missed reads or throws. The problem is if those consistent errors occur when we need the big play.

Nobody is perfect. Even Devonta Smith dropped a few. However, Williams legitimately has a drops problem. He's among the worst - maybe the worst - individual in the nation with respect to drops. Additionally, there were some times where - by my amateur eyes - that he's ran sloppy routes that threw off the QB too.

He's got some mental problem when the lights are on...not sure how someone fixes that but he's made some insane catches too. It isn't an inability thing.

However, it is still has been a huge disappointment in 2025 nonetheless. I think he had only two targets in the last game. There seems to be a loss of confidence in him from the staff and his quarterback.

Bernard, Brooks, and Horton have what I'd consider a "normal" number of drops. However, a few of them have been baffling because they were not difficult catches. It happens though.

I agree about RWs and pointed to it being all mental no differently than it was mental with Ty.

However even with the mental sorted we both know they will still drop some and RWs at his best focus still uses those pads to catch balls lol.

He would just trap them better

He's got to break that tendency. I hope Nix wears him out on using his hands.

Sure and you're a guy who repeatedly insults different members on this forum just because you don't like what they say so you're probably worse off.

Wonder why they don’t throw him more screens, etc. Easy to catch passes with room.

Do we need a big game from him or just an avg game where he catches a pass thrown his way a few times? Like the guy's attitude, but he's a liability at this point, tbh.

We're playing the best team we've played thus far this season. We need a great game from everyone.

Even those have typically been plays where he caught the ball with his forearms and body. So part of it is definitely an inability thing. A WR who needs to use his arms and body to secure the ball 100% of the time has a low ceiling. Couple that with him being small/not very strong and you basically have a guy who is only useful on vertical routes against single coverage, but who also frequently drops the ball even when he beats that coverage. Hopefully a new voice in his ear will help him, but I am not optimistic.

Bama’s screen game sucks and seldomly provide any “room.”

Pisses me off that Grubb doesn't know how to create space by his schemes.

The most frustrating is when he lines all of the receivers up near the OL and tries to run the ball.

Literally the ENTIRE defense is in the box.

Grubb's obsession with running plays that need room to the short side of the field is one of his most annoying traits.

oof... a linebacker and db hitting rw at the same time. seems like an automatic fumble to me. i'm thinking use him as the second man on a hook-n-ladder or is it hook-n-lateral. either one, it seems the safest way to get him the ball. if he gets lit up and fumbles, its a big chance the ball goes out of bounds and you retain possession.

If our offense can run the ball effectively 10 times a game. Ty Simpson starts regaining his confidence with deep balls and Ryan Williams starts catching the ball.

We could win the National Championship.
