If this doesn't tell the story I don't know what else would.

Bill Walsh is the one who started scripting plays at the start of games. The difference is he generally scripted plays that worked.

Can you imagine how awesome it would be if a defense had that much success against the other team on their first drive?

If the guy really hates his job shouldn’t he at the very least try to coach better so someone hires him out from under us.

Worth every penny!

Thing is...we're paying him "only" $1 million because Seattle is still paying him.

It's amazing how wealthy you can become for being inept once you're in the coaching "club."

His contract is up at the end of the year. We have him on the cheap right now because Seattle is paying the bulk of his deal. Does it finally reach a point Byrne tells DeBoer he’s going to have to choose a different OC?

Best case scenario is DeBoer says tells him it's his program and he'll do what he wants. Then Byrne fires his arse on the spot.

You think that 1st drive production is hot stuff? Wait until you see Grubb out of the halftime locker room!

I'll go ahead and knock out the sunshine pumper post:

Oh, so you're going ignore the 3 75-yard TD drives and 2 FGMs in 16 tries huh?

If I saw somebody dressed like this in public I would assume he’s puffed a few peters in his lifetime — no offense to coach Murph

6 scoring drives against 9 drives resulting in a turnover of some variety. Offensive genius right there. What a fricking joke.

Genius if he was trying to make a 69 joke. Nice.

That's the tragedy of it. These are our best plays.

Walsh also scripted plays to test defensive reactions and see if they were presenting the same looks that they saw on film or if they were showing something new and would need to adjust. They would also repeatedly show looks early that they planned on altering concepts with the same looks later in the game for splash plays.

From what I can tell, Grubb scripts plays to do absolutely none of that.
