Joe Brady
Brady had a couple years experience as an offensive asst with the Saints before he went to LSU.
That said, that was still a lot of inexperience at the NFL level that showed during his stint with Rhule.
I can see for family reasons and want to test the waters it be appealing to Grubb. But I'll be very surprised if a first time HC roles the dice on a guy with no NFL experience, and truthfully, a limited sample size of D1 CFB experience.

Good athlete. He had nearly 100 TD receptions in HS in Washington. His brother Kellen was 50-3 playing QB for the same school.
I think Grubb stays. Doesn't make sense to make a move yet - Gotta imagine he and DeBear are within two years of going next level.

Kliff Kingsbury withdrew from consideration for the Raiders OC position. He seems to fit the bill for everything Macdonald said he wanted in an OC.

Breer is saying he is likely headed to the Commanders and then maybe Chip to the Raiders.

This Grubb to Seattle thing still seems to have legs on Twitter. So if Grubb does jump, any idea who DeBoer replaces him with? I know he values people he has worked with before.

I wouldn't buy Twitter legs necessarily. The NFL product is pretty deeply integrated with traditional media and the teams are usually open with their interview candidates though they don't necessarily have to be quite as open with college candidates.
Edit: My point with traditional media is ESPN hasn't reported this at all but it is all over the place from sources not deeply connected to the NFL. The NFL is not like college ball, almost all "reports" are controlled leaks from the franchise or required communications by the league.

Twitter was saying an hour ago that there was mutual interest between the giants OC and Seattle. Said he interviewed for the HC position and though he didn't get it, they really liked him.

I have seen Mike Kafka's named mentioned as one of the potential candidates. I just wish they would hurry up and hire anyone whose name isn't Grubb.

Wouldn't be surprised if he leaves, don't know about the offensive coaches but we know Daboll had trouble with the DC. Maybe some culture issues there.

I just don't see a younger first-time head coach who has a defensive background hiring a college offensive coordinator. Macdonald has already hired a former HC and defensive-mind to be his Assistant Head Coach in Leslie Frazier. They plan on bringing a lot of experience on defense...hiring a college offensive coordinator with no NFL experience seems like a risky decision for a first time head coach.
You gotta really believe that what DeBoer is doing with Grubb is a true innovation in approaching offense in the 2020s to make that move...and if that is the case then I think we should be excited about who we just hired to be HC.

The Giants blocked Mike Kafka from interviewing with the Seattle Seahawks for the OC position. He already interviewed with them for the HC position. What a crock!

Grubb was in Tuscaloosa recruiting for Jr day today according to Bamaonline.

Get the feeling it's gonna be the Detroit guy

Based on the Giants blocking Kafka, I don't think Grubb is their favorite. I think the Detroit gut would be a great hire.

He'll be everyone's favorite when Grubb helps DeBoer win the National Championship.

Supposedly, the Seahawks are also interested in Jay Harbaugh. The way around the blocking of Kafka is to tack on an additional title such as OC/Assistant HC. That way it would not be considered a lateral move and the Giants could not block the interview. I guess Engstrand has interviewed, but I have not seen anymore news about him. If Grubb was their top choice and he was interested it does seem the deal would have already been done.

I’m assuming Grubb has not come to a full agreement yet with Alabama, so is this just a play by his agent (floating his name around) to get more $$?
Don’t blame him really - would be a good time to do it.

Not as OC, he is a D/ST coach.

From what I read the average salary for an OC in the NFL is 1 mil a year, and Grubb was the highest paid coordinator in college football last year at 2 million a year.

The article on Harbaugh stated, "As for Harbaugh, it’s unclear what his role would be as he has experience coaching offense, defense and special teams." However, he probably is not being considered for the OC position.
