Yeah, I've been saying for years that I'll take a big step back in how much of my life I waste paying attention to football after Saban retires. I'll always be a fan, but the older I get the more I'd rather spend my time in other ways. And, I've already suffered through decades of rebuilding years and coaches.

That coupled with what the sport has become is enough to make me ready to take a big step back. I'll always be a Bama fan, but I'm going to be a lot more casual about it.

I would assume, if true, the ability to get a pass rusher is only part of the get. possibly locking down St Thomas Aquinas would also be a benefit

I'll never get over how Alabama is like the Wal-Mart of shopping for other teams. Not Georgia, not Ohio St, etc. They immediately come here to get players and (usually)coaches like they are on a cherry picking spree..........On a side note, Deion Sanders is a combination of black preacher and David Lee Roth rolled into one.

That’s only $10K per facemask penalty.

Besides the stupid penalties, he looked pretty damn good to me.

He’s very good at getting in the backfield and rushing the passer, but he has a low football IQ.

Opposing OCs targeted him with great success using screens, flat routes, read options, etc. Turner rarely handled those well.

This might cause Nick to retire from coaching and become czar of college football!

The only person who knows less about college football and has worse sources than Rick is Dan Patrick. Both are terrible when it comes to actual info.

Rick makes "big stories" out of his arse, and considering that UM just spent $100 on a renovated facility and the fact that the Athletic Department might be strapped for cash, this is utter bullshite.

Also, I thought Dan Patrick only interviews coaches, I don't think he breaks rumors/stories

That is actually not true for any kid coming out of high school as they are required to sign a NLI to receive their scholarship and the NLI requires anyone under the age of 21 to have a legal guardian to sign it as well even if they are married

All of this BS ruining the game is a byproduct of woke "leaders" pissing in their pants over "equity" after the summer of 2020. Everyone went along with it because when you're ridiculously paying coaches $10 million a year, it's not very equitable to say players can't get paid. They just opened the floodgates without thinking anything through. I don't have a problem with NIL if, IF, it's done rationally with actual rules and enforcement in place. The transfer portal though is an absolute flustercuck.

The issue a school like UA will have the transfer portal is NIL and enticing players away but if UA is playing the game so be it and it is wash.

After that it is a bonus to cut ties with players and no more criticism for gray shirting, over signing, and medical schollys everyone complained about with Saban. It also is a big plus for smaller schools to grab players they normally would not have access to

Not really worth it for them imo. Turner is a good complimentary piece but he's not really gonna get them much further

Got to love our fanbase.

The kid is a top 10 pick talent but we will find a way to shite on him

Honestly, Utah's AD corroborated rumors that our NIL collective offered a million to their TE, Dalton Kincaid, to transfer a year ago. I think these incentives to transfer are part of the game now.

I guess anything is possible, but I don't believe the Utah AD. That's as much as Bryce was initially getting in NIL, we may have offered something, but a million dollars for a tight end is hard to believe. If we were throwing that much money around we would have wound up with a better WR from the portal than we got. Utah has been butthurt since they beat us, then went on to do squat while we won championships.

Oh he he rumor mongors as much as the rest on his show. On basketball and pro football he knows some stuff sometimes but anytime it's college football related he is wrong almost 100% of the time.

There needs to be a cap limit. A player can’t make more than 100k for all deals combined or something. And they need to remove the boosters. Boosters shouldn’t be involved. 100k a year is enough for any college kid.

Lighten up Francis. It was a joke and I highly doubt Dallas lurks here or is as sensitive as you.

We didn't offer Kincaid a million to transfer and if we were, there's a dozen other similar tight ends that year who would've take the offer
