Pros of hiring Pitino: He's a coaching savant and would almost certainly have us winning 30+ games and in the Sweet 16 by year 4.

Cons of hiring Pitino: Literally everything else.

He said he specifically asked him about Alabama

It would be the ultimate "frick you, winning" hire. He'd probably only be here for like 6 or 7 years before retiring, but as long as he stays away from Delta, McDonald's, Italian restaurants, abortion clinics, escort services, and runners associated with shoe companies he'd definitely leave whoever his successor is with a strong program.

Joe Goodman, Jr. (not Jeff) wrote a column this morning stating that the powers that be at UA will be pushing the new coach to hire Bucky McMillan.

Goodman is a troller but I'd be totally fine with hiring Bucky.

Lol, phenomenal then. Adding that exchange to the list of reasons I think we should hire him.

I'd be so excited for like 30 minutes then pretty quickly realize that I'd sold my soul to the devil and immediately regret it.

That 30 minutes would be one helluva thrill ride though!

I feel like recruiting could be a nightmare with him. Parents can’t be okay with him being the most influential person in their son’s college life.

There would be no regrets whatsoever and we both know it.

Regarding Lennie Acuff, Drew D’Armond was pushing for him when it was apparent Avery was gone.

I feel like Byrne is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat that none of us is talking about. That’s his MO.

Also the excitement you get from Pitino would last 15 seconds at the most.

That would be an egregiously reckless hire

Yeah, I just don't see it happening. We have no reason to make such a reach.

I've always wanted to know what's it's like to live in the state of denial known commonly as being an LSU fan.

The board give Byrne the green light on shooting for the stars. With all due respect to coach Acuff, I don't think they want a Juco, NAIA, D2, or 3 coach in consideration.

No,no some of you misunderstood me. I was just commenting on the only other place I’ve heard Lennie’s name. He is better than what we had but no way do we make that big of a reach. I was also just speculating that I won’t be at all surprised if Byrne lands somebody that is totally off our radar (but not Lennie) because that’s how he works.

frick it, hire Pitino (he says he's innocent) if he's interested and just put something in his contract that if he broke rules, he's gonna have to go.

The program is already at the bottom. We have nothing to lose. This hire is extremely risky, but also could be massively rewarding (if things go Pitino's way).

I don't think rationalizing how Pitino somehow remained blissfully ignorant of the fact that he was in charge of a totally out of control program is anything close to what LSU fans have been doing with Will "surely he was talking about a fantasy football trade" Wade. There's at least no direct evidence of Pitino buying a hooker or personally offering Brian Bowen $100k. I mean, I'm sure he knew all about it, but I'd also bet my next paycheck that Calipari knew all about the shite with Marcus Camby and Derrick Rose. It's not about what actually happened. It's about what they can prove.
