No, he's been very consistent with his poor play. A slump now would be playing well for a change.

It's not bashing him to point out the obvious.

He's not an SEC level player yet and Nate is doing him and the team a disservice putting him out there before he's ready.

This team has to many "superstars" and no leader.

We also don't have anybody that could hit the side of a goddamn barn from beyond the arc.

JD may not be playing up to his billing but it was pretty well known coming in that he wasn't a shooting specialist but we expect our freshman PG who played at a lower classification to come in and just learn to be Pete Maravich overnight. I do wish JD would take it to the rim more, but that's pretty much his only effective move and everyone is shutting it down and he has become hesitant to drive. JD hasn't helped us much this year, but there are several upperclassmen that should shoulder way more of the blame for the shitshow Alabama basketball has become this year. And I'll give you a hint, two of them play guard.

Ding ding. Quinerly and Shackleford were supposedly veteran leaders for this team but they aren’t doing it on the floor or locker room.

Furthermore the biggest issue with this team is the huge void in productive minutes in the frontcourt. Davison isn’t going to fix that one even if he was playing well for a freshman.

What this team needs is better production from the frontcourt and veteran guards to be the team people thought they might be. Davison’s play would likely made no difference in any games this year.

It’s pretty wild to see him and Washington in that game and realize that while they were close, Davison was ranked higher. Washington does everything MUCH better aside from jumping high. JD struggles just to dribble the ball against pressure.

Hopefully he is committed to building his game over 3-4 years because I don’t know how he’d make it in the NBA if he tries to move on.

He's 19... Was playing against mediocre high school talent last year. He didn't come from some img academy like others. Give him time and cut him a little slack... His veterans aren't helping him out much right now. And for God's sake, don't worrying so much about someone's hair.

Appearance matters. Society has warped the minds of many into thinking it doesn't but it does.

It works for the New York Yankees, the most successful organization in U.S. professional sports.

JD hasn’t progressed mentally. He dominated in high school where he was the best player on the floor every game.

Now that his physical skills have been matched, his mental development needs to progress like a 5 star normally would, but his isn’t.

Don’t forget that JQ was supposed to be a star and was terrible for Villanova in his order season as well.

It's criminal to have FANS like you and to make up an entire thread about a FRESHMAN now that is crazy.

I will tell everyone who is willing to listen that NEGATIVITY will spread quicker than POSITIVITY. I am here to speak positive.

JD isn't a finished product by no means but I'm glad we have fans who are already writing him off because it's going to be even sweeter when he proves you and the rest wrong.

I'm glad JD chose Bama and if your reading this JD just keep GRINDING! Let the HATE & NEGATIVITY fuel you.

Let's see what he does against Arkansas, b/c they sure as h3ll are not going to play that garbage defensive scheme Ole Miss uses.

Eh, JD was awful the last few weeks. This thread might have a bit in poor taste but it wasn't all wrong. He played lights out tonight. Let's hope he keeps playing confident and with aggression.

My post probably was in poor taste. It came from the frustration of watching JD continually struggle and Oats just leaving him out there to struggle.

He played better tonight, but still had some baffling turnovers. But the Ole Miss defense was a turnstile, so we don't need to get overly excited.

Good win tonight, we had to have it

JD will play better when everyone around him plays better. He didn’t come from some super-school basketball factory…he’s not ready to carry a college basketball team as a freshman.

When the vets plays, he will play well. It really ain’t his fault everyone on this team hit a simultaneous, multi-month 3pt shooting dry spell. His ability to get to the rim will improve when the shooting around him is threatening.

I still don’t get the hype. Oates has done a terrible job with this team and I think it’s time for a change. Oates isn’t the answer and his offense has been figured out.
