Came here to say that Saban needs to can it with this QB stuff. Enough is enough.

A blind man could see that Tua is QB1. Not sure what he is doing except actually creating the hoopla and BS stirred up with his nonsense.

I wonder if we have a bigger Heavy Package than Robinson leading the way.

You are a day late with this one.

1. The OL pass blocking in the first half

2. Lack of QB pressure

3. Coverage over the middle

4. Coverage on backs out of the backfield

5. Penalties

Considering it was game 1 with us having a ton of new guys on defense, I really don't have any complaints.

Those refs were fricking awful though. I kept thinking they'd just made a mistake when they announced that facemask penalty and any second they were going to say "Correction, the facemask penalty is on Louisville's number XX." They were some flag-happy mofo's.

Anyway, it's difficult to know what is just chance or circumstance in a single game. I'll wait until I see trends before I decide if I have any complaints about the team.

My only complaint was Miller's boneheaded personal foul penalty. Cost us a TD, and very nearly cost us Q. Williams and Wilson to injuries. Out of character for him, and it was a bit of a ticky-tack call, but he has to keep his head in the game better.

The Officials

21 flags thrown, that’s ridiculous

Looking like the officials will go scorched earth this year on targeting.

Might as well expect some players will get ejected this year.

People thinking that they have a better grasp in running the team than our coaching staff.

Committing that many penalties is ridiculous.

Wasn’t criticizing the coaching.
That’s combined flags on both teams.

I'm beginning to worry that Hurts' dad has some dirt on Saban.

Wasn't directed at you. You were just the last post, so I clicked reply. There is a whole cottage industry that has sprung up around vicariously coaching Alabama. Coach Saban respects and likes Jalen. He wanted to give the guy who's won 25 games an opportunity to put his best foot forward. He probably knew the end of things in January or at the end of spring practice, but he needed to 1) push Tua to continue to work hard. 2) Put some pressure on Tua to see how he continues to perform under pressure. 3) Make sure that Jalen is still focused and prepared if Tua were to be injured.

Saban was under zero responsibility to name a starter prior to the Louisville game or at another time. Some people tried to act as though he HAD to do so by law or something. Like he said prior to the game, "You're going to find out who the starter is in about 30 seconds. Can't you wait?" He's the coach. He can name Christian Miller starting QB prior to the next game if he wants to. The guy's the best coach in college football history and he's ours. We need to shut up, trust the guy and be happy. It ain't like he can't win the big game or something.

The Op asked for complaints, so fork you very much...

As for missed kicks, here's my partial list...

1972 Iron Bowl xp
1973 Sugar Bowl xp

2013 Auburn FG

Missed extra points cost us the 2000 Orange Bowl, and could/should have cost us the 1999 Florida game (which could have cost us the 1999 SECCG, but I'm not sure what the tie-breaker would have been).

Unless you are the barn. Can't believe that they missed that call on the Wash QB. That was a perfect targeting call, crown of the head to the QB head.

Yep. I thought of those too. But when pv33 said championships, I thought he meant national championships.

Glad he's got you to knight for him. Otherwise people wouldn't respect him.

It's a message board. People talk shite. People argue. Sometimes, people even salient debates. But it should never be taken seriously.

McMillan block in the back that cost Waddle a touchdown on punt return.
