And I don’t understand how we can have so much trouble with kickers. What’s the deal?

Kicking at this level is almost 100% mental. This was Austin Jones' first game experience with the big boys of CFB, and just like freshman/inexperienced players at other positions, they make more mental mistakes in their first game or so.

Let's give Jones, or whoever trots out there for FGs, the time to find their footing at the position (pun intended). Cut all of these kids some slack and let them develop for a few games.

We haven't lost a single championship due to missed FGs. And kicking has helped us win a few.

After Bama misses out on the playoffs 3 or 4 times

In my best 'office space' voice -

Um, yeah, I'm gonna have to go ahead and kind of, uh, disagree with you there.

We missed out on a title in 13 thanks to a kick.

We missed a chip-shot of a fg for a title in regulation last year.

We haven't lost as much trophy case hardware thanks to kickers as FSU, but it's been a bad situation for a long time.

My complaint is that I didn't drink nearly enough. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I half assed it. It shall not happen again

If you're like me, after drinking way too much, then yesterday was a rough one.

We had a few glaring errors with MLB coverage. Might have just been someone else's job and the LBs were trying to make up for it, but either way, that was uncharacteristic of us.

Tua didn’t play the whole first half. The biggest complaint is the final score wasn’t correct. That’s not what I put in the prediction thread.

Yeah. He could continue to sit on the bench and congratulate players coming off the field, I guess, and then transfer to another school after the season where he won't start rather than making a significant contribution on the field at another position.

You're right.

Name one position that he would see the field for us. He's a good athlete for a QB, but name one starter at another position for us that he could potentially beat out and contribute more to the team than as a back-up QB.

So you don't have a real answer? That's what I thought.

Fullback.

Tus, Jalen, RB. Quintuple option.

jeremy Shelley from <40 has been the only reliable kicker since Leigh tiffin.
Griffin covered most of his misses with the OSK vs Clemson.

Eternally hoping the next kicker is the solution. Just hard to be optimistic when he started for the first time in his career a week ago.

We lost the GOTC in part due to terrible kicking, which led to not getting an SEC championship.
The Auburn gmae in '13 was lost to kicking, but not because of the last kick. There was a nonkick with 5 minutes to go from the 13 yard line, plus a missed FG earlier that game.
Can I go on?

If we’re going to continue to play Jalen in games, for Pete sakes, have a package for him that he is capable of executing. Asking him to run the same plays as Tua is laughable and only accentuates his shortcomings. Locksley did a poor job of calling plays that Jalen could run well.

What can you run? He can't read defenses pre-snap. He's horrible at reading defenses post-snap both in the run game and passing game. So the read option is out. The QB sweep and bubble screen is about it.
