Leftists hate nothing more than black people who don't adhere to their groupthink. They're the most racist people in America.

So they actually cut ties with him for liking posts that are inconvenient?

They are also ending services provided by the free medical clinic that the church operates.

They are doing this because someone "liked" three posts that, while clearly partisan, are not racist or otherwise offensive. They are literally depriving the poorest citizens of the city needed services over something stupid.

If it showed the officers in a bad light we would have already seen them

I guess they only want full police transparency when it fits their narrative.

Holy crap they're all going to get off completely. I honestly thought the one officer would get jail time, but if that's true then I just don't know.

The protesters in Hoover made fools of themselves again today.

quote:

Dudley had asked for volunteers to get arrested, and about eight volunteered. She then had them sign her arm. About an hour after getting to Municipal Drive, eight people walked into the street and were arrested.

Seven of those arrested were adults, and one was a juvenile. All were arrested on disorderly conduct charges. One of them, police said, also had outstanding warrants with Hoover and Vestavia.

You didn't know you had outstanding warrants??

I am certain this is coming to every school in the very near future.

quote:

Current Iowa football players have now made it clear to fans that they will not tolerate those who don't support their message off of the field on the heels of allegations against strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle. Sophomore defensive back Kaevon Merriweather took to Twitter on Monday to deliver the message that fans who don't support the team's decision to kneel during the national anthem shouldn't bother cheering for them moving forward.

"If you can not support us right now with this movement and with our team taking a knee during the national anthem, DO NOT support us during the football season," he wrote. "DO NOT watch our games on TV. DO NOT come up to us when you want photos. DO NOT ask us to give your kids autographs. DON'T COME TO US EXPECTING US TO DO FOR YOU WHEN YOU CAN'T SUPPORT THE BLACK ATHLETES ON THIS TEAM AND THE DECISIONS WE MAKE AS A TEAM. I would rather play in front of 1,000 fans who care about us as people outside of football and what we are standing for, than 70,000 fans who only care about us when we are in uniform and on the field entertaining them."

And this is probably the first year of my life that I just take off from watching any sports at all. Sports for me used to be about getting away from it all. I refuse to be continually lectured about how evil I am by the sports and entertainment world.

Yea, I get mad when there are political adds during sports. I don’t care if it’s Republican or Democrat. I use sports as an outlet to enjoy a day without drama of real life

I never thought I would see the day where I might consider not watching college football anymore.

Same. It’s fricking crazy, but if this stuff pervades the SEC then I might have to move on myself.

What sucks is football used to be, in my view, a symbol of how far race relations had come in this country. Fans cheered for their team regardless of the player’s race or political leanings. But now if fans are going to be lectured about how evil they are, it is time to have some self respect and not tune in. Hang out with friends and family and do constructive projects instead of watching the games.

All that being said, I love Alabama football and I hope that we can keep the politics out of Saturdays. Will be interesting to see how this plays out as we get closer to September.

If the players take their cues from the pros, I don't know how this is possible. The problem is, nobody watches sports to see politics. Eventually this will end with fewer scholarships and smaller pro contracts. They are only hurting themselves.

It’s pervading everything. Every legitimate company, group, organization of any kind. There was some guy saying he was getting these ads after downloading a video game

With the amount of virtue signaling that has taken place I would certainly be shocked if a school or players are going to sit by idly and quiet while others are being very vocal. I am picturing tons of commercials that resemble the big Gillette ad as well as numerous statements every week put out by coaches players schools leagues and everyone in between. Rinaldi will be very busy.

Then again I could be totally wrong but this is just my opinion going by what I have seen so far.

That is entirely a personal decision but some context to these immediate reactions by college football players are certainly in order. Whether it's Drew Brees, Mike Norvell, an Iowa strength coach, and staff, this is all happening in the middle of the biggest protest to human rights in our lifetime. Merely associating this spirit of discontent to sports or Alabama football in this heat of the battle is shortsighted.

Lines are being drawn emotionally in the sand. The recent situation with Mike Norvell at FSU only clarifies my point. Norvell, just got into hot water with his players because he lied about speaking with each player individually and having a meaningful dialogue about the Floyd situation. His players said all he did was send out a tweet. His players are now saying they won't play for him until he reconciles this situation with them.

Right now, this highly charged social push back isn't business as usual. Maybe it won't be again. But as coach Norvell is learning, now is not the time to go tone-deaf about where his players fit into the struggle. As Drew Brees found out in another way, any individual who purposely, or otherwise, misses the point is going to get called out.

He cannot keep that video hidden for long. It will have to be turned over to defense counsel.

No matter what it shows, it won’t change the fact that once Mr. Floyd was subdued the officer kept his knee on his neck. That’s going to be really, really hard to overcome. It could convince a jury to convict him of a lesser offense.

It also won’t quell the riots. They aren’t rioting for justice they’re rioting because they are thugs, anarchists, and various other types that don’t belong in civilized society.

If we are lucky it will end athletic scholarships entirely and college sports can be fun again.
