Mac just threw a dime that should have been a TD but the receiver dropped it.

Tua seems to be playing himself out of the NFL. I obviously know the injury history, but he did lead the league in passing not that long ago...it's pretty baffling. Probably the best pure passing talent ever at Bama...esp pre injury.

Tua did not have the same zip on his passes after the hip injury that ended his college career. I feel like if he were in a position to throw during the combine, he would have fallen a good bit in the draft. It was obvious from the moment he started playing for Miami that he wasn't the same dude.
However, he was still great at diagnosing a defense and very accurate short to medium. He had enough placement on deep balls that with how wide open Hill and Waddle would be that he was good enough to be an NFL starting QB for a few years.
However, I think the concussions slowed him down mentally and the other nicks and bruises have diminished what little zip he had left on his throws.
His 2025 season was MISERABLE. Almost all of his deep balls were sailing hospital balls. He was not getting the ball out on time on short stuff anymore. Seemed to be processing things like he was in a brain fog (and he probably is tbh).

People don't realize how important the hips are in generating throwing power. Arm strength is only a part of it.

I think we should all just be proud of his accomplishments in the NFL before the sum of the damage to his body was too much to overcome. I just hope he hasn’t caused too much brain trauma and he can enjoy life after football like he deserves.

Especially for a smaller dude like Tua. He got by for a couple of years in the NFL by throwing with anticipation to the fastest collection of skill guys in football, but it was enough to secure the bag. He needs to just retire and stop putting his body through something it clearly cannot handle.

He doesn't give a flip what any of us think but I was kind of hoping he would hang it up after last year. Poor guy has taken an absolute beating over his career. I'm 99% certain he doesn't need the money. From what I recall, he's been living solely off endorsement money and banking his salary.
Not sure if he still lives in his same house but I know a couple of years ago, I saw a story about his house. I'd guess his house is about 3500 square feet. Nice house but modest by NFL standards.

I could see him back in Hawaii coaching or something.
He definitely doesn't need the money. He didn't need money after just his rookie contract...that insane second contract from Miami was ill advised, but great for him. Teams always overpay when a player has a career year at just the right time.

Chicken is going to come strike down this thread since it’s a “season long” thread. I hope he won’t see it, though.

Whoops. Forgot it had to be weekly threads. I'll fix it. I wonder if he'd notice if I just edited the title each week

Milroe absolutely played like shite today. 6 of 11 with 2 picks. Shocking.

Actually forgot he was in the NFL.

Wouldn't be surprised if he's cut before season begins.
He's been awful so far in the exhibition games.
Much like he was his last game with the TIDE vs a depleted Wolverine team.

Bernard has had a good preseason, which is of no surprise.

As far as preseason games go, Tua has the most important one of his career Friday night...vs the Dolphins.
He really needs a good game.

Because "the team" wanted Milroe to start. He was the biggest cancer this program has had in a long time. CKD was afraid to bench him because he thought he would lose "the team" to portal BS.
