Basically the staff doesn’t care if On3 or 247 lists a kid how is 6’3” 230 with lanky arms as a linebacker. Staff is projecting them as athletes and what they’ll do in our system. In a 3-4 they’d play LB. But really coaches don’t talk in those terms. It’s like “edge, 3 tech, 1 tech, whatever goofy word they want for their linebackers,” etc

Maybe the coaches are attempting to get ahead of the curve in the event CFB addopts the new NFL kick-off rules. They want 10 LBs ready for the new kick coverage unit?

Lawson and Campbell have injury concerns. Jefferson may still leave. At very least you’re bringing in a guy that knows Womack’s defense very well. He can be a quality reserve in 2024. Special teams guy. And then be a starter in 2025.

All these LBs being signed kind of reminds me of one of Coach Bryant’s early recruiting classes (1964?) when you could sign some crazy number of players each class (90?), something like 40 out of 90 had played fullback (?!?!). Of course, most switched positions at Bama but that’s a weird stat.

The 30th.

true…or Javier Arenas, I think his true height was 5’9 at Bama.
* but 165 lbs is pretty light for the sec.

Mark McMillian played a couple yrs at BAMA and 127 games (23 INT's) in the NFL.
His last physical data listed was 5'7" 154.
