We had no business going after either of them imo. We have talented WRs and Crowell coming in. Didn't need great guys. Need great guys on the line. That's what's pissing me off.
This I agree with. Not sure why we're chasing anything other than linemen.

Ole Miss' starting QB played D2 last year. Their starting RB was 4th string at Mizzou last year. Their leading receiver was at Penn State for 3 years before this season. Their 2nd best WR was at Oklahoma State the year before. Their 3rd string WR was at Wake.
Ole Miss is absolutely killing it finding guys in the portal. You either have to do that, which saves money, or you can do what OSU and Texas do which is just spent your infinite money to get the best players on paper.
Lane had to do that because he sucks as a recruiter. Easier to buy players even if is for the cheap.
All of you here complaining about the NIL. Cam and his people most likely told BAMA that if you are close to Texas' offer we will give you the home town discount.
That would be great ,but we were not even in the same ballpark.
We have the #2 class in the country, returning some talent.
We still have a roster to fill and now we can look at the FCS kids
Let this play out. I think we might be in good shape next year.

This is the actual first complete rebuild Bama has faced on offense in a while so I’m here for it. If Bama shits the bed, I’ll still be pulling for them. I lived through Bama football in the 90s and 2000s. Some of these guys wouldn’t be Bama fans if they experienced ‘93-‘07 I’m willing to bet. The NIL and portal stuff has made it hard to stay interested I’ll admit.

People are just used to us being in good shape for the next year before the previous season starts. Just not the situation we're in anynore.

Their high school recruiting is not at the same level as ours.
Thank you . Kinda have to choose one or the other or a blend of the two . The Texas schools , Oregon , Miami , UM, OSU definitely have an advantage . Hell they have enough rich boosters to divide up the 2/3 players per donor . I would be concerned if we were #27 in recruiting and then couldn’t pull effectively from the portal . Frustrating but other schools are facing the same problem . It will work out for them but just imagine LSU. Whole new team and don’t have a QB yet .

I get the sense Morgan and DeBoer are in this alternate reality and refuse to admit that there is a huge problem with a lack of good offensive and defensive linemen. Are they just clueless?

Are we really flipping our shite because we didn’t get a RB named Hollywood and Cam Coleman (who we didn’t have much of a shot at or need anyways)?
Yes. Most of these posters had no idea Hollywood Smothers existed a couple of weeks ago and now we are acting like our program is in a free fall because hes not joining our team.

Honest answer… the name says it all…Lane Kiffin! Kids want to play for him, especially offense. They’re not beating the door down to play for DeLoser!
So they were beating down the doors to play for a coach that lost to the worst team in the SEC and never made the playoffs until this season? I don't buy it.

No doubt. Losing to NIU on homecoming in 2003 was certainly something. And fielding 53 players against Auburn in 2004 having to start Spencer Pennington at quarterback. At least now we don’t have the scholarship reductions. No reason to suck outside of the money aspect.

We have talented WRs
Ahhh egghhh…don’t know about that. Lotzier Brooks is not a perimeter receiver. It looks like we have a lot of unproven guys so you can’t say that we have talented receivers.
BTW, you need more than one.

Heard that quite often during those dark days. A lot of coping and sunshine pumping.

I remember how happy we were in ‘05 to start out 9-0. Glad we didn’t win it all that year because those games were vacated and Shula would’ve gotten an extension.

Is the plan to add weight to all these TE’s and convert them to OT or DE? I don’t understand the portal strategy with targeting skill positions instead of LOS??

IDk about the locker room stuff but i saw him smiling walking off the field when UGA beat them.

I think he did get an extension for going 10-2. I remember getting into some heated "debates" with fans on MySpace who were sipping the Shula Kool aid that year.
