Based on how our staff operates? I'd put my money on platooning
I don't think platooning is great for OL continuity. I like the 6OL formations when you need to make a statement. However, I think great teams have 5 and stick with it. That was Huskies plan in 2022-23.
I think we platoon because of fitness of our linemen at guard being insufficient to move around like this offense wants. I'm telling you that if Lloyd or Haywood ends up playing guard, I doubt they come off the field much. They are definitely athletic enough to be a pulling guard in the offense for all the consequential snaps.
I can agree it may not be Lloyd or Carroll...it is probably Carroll or Haywood or Lloyd. Carroll and Lloyd are in the catbird seat already on campus and familiar with the scheme. So it may end up being Haywood at OG. However, those are 3 of our 5 best linemen more than likely. Got to get your best 5 on the field.
I also agree with the sentiment that Strayhorn may move to guard if another center prospect emerges in the transfer process. In that case, it'd probably be Sanders moving into a depth role.

Your friend wants to be skull Eskimo bros with George W Bush?

I was told everyone only cared about money. You’re getting paid the same whether you’re guard or tackle and you have another year or 2 to play tackle if that’s your nfl goal.
It is about money ultimately, OT makes a lot more money and gets drafted much higher than IOL guys.
It’s also a prestige thing, LTs are like the lead guitarists while the guards are the bassists: you can’t play rock music without both, but LTs get more girls haha.

I totally get that, and you’re right when you’re draft eligible. But all of them should be willing to play inside until their Junior or Senior year. There’s tackles taken in the 1st round every year who played guard as well. The versatility is a plus.

We only played 6-7 in 2025 because we only had 3 starter level guys and 3-4 backup level guys who didn’t fit our system.
Throw in a bunch of injuries and you get what we got.

Good ice breaker at parties.
Hey girl, I've banged the same skull as a POTUS.
Wanna see my Manga collection?

Staff is very high on Mal Waldrep. He was close to playing as a TF. Look for him to take one of the IOL positions. Hopefully there is strong competition there.

Texas added another OT. I'd be surprised if they're still going after Seaton.

I’ve heard the same and hopefully he’s ready to take another big jump forward.
I’m just skeptical of anyone who couldn’t get on the field in 2025 given who was starting and all the injuries they had.
I mean when you can’t pass Dewberry and Geno V playing at 60% you still have a way to go to being ready to start on a quality OL. That said having a second year to add strength on the IOL is a big deal, though ideally you want those guys to be RSo before they get thrown into the fire.

The big money is getting desperate bet the offers are getting huge for some of these impact guys as teams try to fill gaps.

Not to mention the splurge for some teams might bite them in their arse. Look at Texas throwing money around and Nick Brooks, Wisner, Moore, Baxter entering the portal. Wonder if it will be worth it. Sark's probably running through aloe -- that seat is HOT

Saw Womack predicted to Auburn, FWIW.

My understanding is he’s got problems at home and the boosters are losing patience with them.
That was a championship roster last year and he couldn’t get any kind of functional play from the QB last year. Almost felt like a Ty Simpson injury situation where if Ewers was healthy they were every bit as good as OSU.
