That's why the ACC crew screwed us on the IRV smith TD.
Then why did they give us a TD we shouldn't have had?

The fanboys don't want to hear it, but we hit our lull when we got cute with the Jalen package. We were absolutely unstoppable and then we do that. For the life of me I can't understand the fascination with having them both on the field at the same time.

I think the game was pretty fairly called. Q could’ve been called for a penalty on his hit to Murray and I saw us get away with a few holds as well.

I couldn't hear the announcers... was that actually an illegal formation or did 1 guy just forget how to count for a split second?

No - the announcers said it was a questionable call.

Yep. When you're gashing the other team, you don't need tricks. Putting an extra QB out there takes a player off the field that is better than the extra QB.

Herbstreit made a comment about it being a bad call, but they didn't really dwell on it. He definitely was not lined up 1 yard behind the LOS.

That call was really my only complaint about the game.

Its extremely difficult to keep your mental focus when winning by 28 in the first quarter. Very few athletes can keep the pedal down, mentally. Natural instinct is to exhale, relax, and coast.

Tiger Woods in his prime is one if the few that could keep the pedal down. There were plenty of guys that could beat him but he never gave them the chance.

Thus, last Bama went in to coast mode and almost didnt get it turned back on.

I really wish Saban would have scored that last TD after hearing Lincoln Riley's presser.

It was a bad call. Usually if the OL head is between the waist of OL and LOS you’re good. He was on line easy. His kick foot was too deep but that died to warrant illegal formation. It was obvious that ACC crew was trying to screw Bama. Ive never complained about officiating but that was pitiful

Their broadcast didn't annoy me that badly.

For most of the game, I thought Herbstreit was just going for Oklahoma for the reasons you mentioned. That opinion changed in the fourth when he said Bama hadn't played within the rules and that Saban wasn't in control of the team.

quote:

To Herbie's credit, with the way he bent over backwards not to show homerism towards the Buckeyes that basically got him ran out of Ohio, I'm going to guess most neutral observers will think he leans Bama next week.

He also threw up his hands and stormed off set in shock for a second when Ohio State didn't get in. So I think he was trying not to appear to be a homer while not really believing there was much possibility Ohio State would be left out. This was just the worst performance, but you haven't been paying attention at all if you think he likes Alabama in the slightest.

We went up big and Oklahoma wasn’t showing much life then. They were putting wrinkles on film for Clemson to sweat over, at least that’s my guess. Some of it worked well too.

My only compliant would be offensive PI that it looked like OK was getting away with. But then we had a few plays late that could have easily been flagged for PI and the refs held their flags. So they were calling it even, hard to really be upset with that.

Honestly the only thing that really fired me up was the official they had on the announcing crew saying Ruggs juggled his TD catch and it should have been incomplete.

So, on the kickoff from the 10....we fair caught it....and then started from the 20???????? Why didn't we start at the 25?

See other thread. Ball was not caught by the player that signaled fair catch. Therefore dead at the spot where he caught it.

I look at it as glorified wildcat when jalens lined up behind center with tua at wide out but I agree it is probably best left on the playsheet.

Exactly. I think some here need to re-watch the game this morning while sober.

Here's a question. Late in the game, ESPN showed graphic of the QB stats and it included an INT for Tua. Was I too drunk and forgetting an INT he threw?

He didn't throw an int. Gaffe by the broadcast crew.

I don’t like seeing that package a ton, but this is completely false.

Bama’s one punt in the first half was off a 3 and out where Tua threw two of his three incompletions.

The other time we stalled and settled for a FG was the next possession. It was killed by TWO penalties on Wills and a false start on Damien Harris.

The only stalled drive of the second half came when Tua got sacked and then threw his last incompletion on the overturned catch by Jeudy. Hurts was not in on that series and we scored TDs or mercy kneed on the rest,

Facts. How do they work?

The fact that he made that post, got upvoted twice, and another poster replied in agreeance makes me wonder if some posters on here even watched the game, or if it's just some residual Hurts hate

This is what concerns me about taking "athletes" and trying to make them fit somewhere. Years of reps at a position in high school is important IMO
