I love Jay Barker as a great person and former player but he's awful on the radio imho. Very dry and doesn't move the needle and would be our version of Stan White imho. No thanks

Of course Barker is the leading vote getter in a poll on AL.com. Jesus some of our fans are just clueless.

Big loss for the booth. Phil Savage was excellent.

No barker ....no Tyler Watts

Stewart would probably be my pick out of realistic choices.

Stewart is a play by play guy not color. Color is usually someone who has been in the game who brings the X and O's to the table. Think former player and though I like Jay and Tyler not sure I can handle listening to them for long periods of time. And all saying people like GMac need to get a grip. This is at best a part time gig and whoever has full time good paying jobs is not going to come be a part time color. Even Phil had other jobs to supplement his income.

Barker would be a horrific pick, maybe even almost half as bad as Stan White.

I also don’t really care for Tyler on the postgame. He’s not awful but would really have to grow into the position.

Almost certainly going to be someone connected to the Saban years, right?

Mike Dubose or bust.

Can you imagine the fun we'd have with sound bites?

someone on Aldotcom suggested they break the racial barrier and let Terrell Owens do it. What an idiot comment. Does he even have any experience doing this. Just cuz you played the game at a high level does not mean you would make a good color guy.

We must show ourselves open-minded and progressive by hiring a female color analyst. Would be hilarious if they got some bimbo who totally didn't know anything about football.

Would be even better as play-by-play. "The guy standing behind the others gets the ball, and he gives it to that other guy. He's kind of running that way. No, no, no. Now he's running this way, and...OH MY GOD! All of those other guys just all jumped on him!"

Yah, GMac would be a natural choice but he's got a full time gig with ESPN/SiriusXM and I don't think the Bama color slot would pay the bills as well.

Does anyone think JP Wilson would be any good at it?

Trent Richardson?

JP is good when he comes on the WJOX on Fridays. I doubt Trent is smart enough to get anything across.

How bout John Parker Wilson. I've heard him on radio and he's pretty good.

The same Phil Savage who in 2014 predicted Florida to walk into BDS and eat our lunch? The same Phil Savage who that same year said Coker would be a one and done qb?

Savage was a clown who happened to know something about football. Now if we could get rid of Eli, we'd be cooking.

I'm continuing my boycott of listening to the games on the radio until we replace Eli with Stewart.
