I just don't think UGa goes the coordinator route.

Will UGA hire someone without HC Experience? I don't know but look at available coaches.

Competing in the SEC East is a joke. One of the best recruiting states. Great facilities etc and Kirby is alum.

Will be interesting.

The WLOCP being between Coach Mac and Kirby would be fun. They were coordinators together for a few years, won two titles, and then they go on to compete opposite each other as the two top teams in the East for the right to play the team they were together at, Alabama.

Unfortunately, I'd say it's higher than 50%.

Unless Saban has told him he's retiring in a couple years, Smart will have to take this one. UGA is his dream job, and they'll likely pay him plenty enough.

He's been groomed for 7-8 years now directly under Saban. He's as ready to take a HC gig as anyone.

On the coaching changes board; Some tweet from "UGAInsider" is saying Tom Herman agreed in principal weeks ago. Who knows though.

Yes, everyone wants Herman. Mizzou is wishing if everyone else gives him an offer.

35%

I think they go after 2 or 3 others, like Herman, before coming back to see if they can settle for Kirby.

Mizzou might be a good job for Kirby. Cut his teeth there then find a better job in 3-4 years. Maybe he just likes being a DC under Saban for now though. That is what i hope. ;)

90% - they envy Bama in every way and they think perhaps if we get "one of their coaches" then they will have have their success.

There is a pretty damn good chance of it, right now the top two have to be Herman and Smart

As of now I'd say 75%, but if Herman stays put I'd bump that to 85%. Unless Saban plans on retiring next season, then Smart will take the job if offered.

Well "one of your coaches" happens to be the most qualifies coordinator available and a graduate of Georgia. It's not like they just pulled a name out of a hat of Alabama coaches.

If Georgia offers Kirby and he doesn't go, then it is pretty obvious who our next coach will be when Saban retires.

Im more interested in who he potentially takes with him when he goes. What are some of the names being mentioned to leave with Kirby wherever he goes?

One of the Georgia Mods just posted this:

This seems to be trending more and more to Kirby Smart. I caution though this is not a DONE DEAL from several sources I trust on this.

No question Clay Helton would have been a OC target had he not got the USC job. Some mention that his brother Tyson Helton at Western Kentucky could get a look as well.

Still leaning more that JP is not on the new staff from everything I continue to hear.

Would you guys want Jeremy Pruitt as DC??

I'd be fine with it. The big thing he brings to the table is recruiting, and we need an ace there considering we will have to start recruiting against Smart.
