This is as under the radar as it gets:

On the opening kickoff of the '09 SECCG, Julio is back deep with Arenas. Arenas takes the kick and Julio absolutely trucks a Gator. Just decleats him before God and everyone.

I wish someone would make that a Gif.

Stacy Harrison blocked FG against Tennessee. Net him a few years later. He was a cool dude.

In my opinion, the most underappreciated play in the Saban era is the one that took place on the play before McCarron's 45 yard touchdown pass to Cooper in the 2012 SEC Championship Game. It was a 3rd and 5, and if we didn't get this first down, that long pass likely doesn't happen. If the long pass play doesn't happen, Georgia likely wins, and we don't win the National Championship against Notre Dame...Georgia does instead.

Yeldon made this first down happen through sheer strength and will power:

Yeldon's Crucial Run

Huge, huge play, and I never hear it mentioned.

Roll Tide!

GMac tightroping the sideline to stay in bounds and pick up the 1st down against UF in the ‘09 SECCG.

Thanks for that. I meant to go look up this play yesterday but got busy and forgot. This play broke open a fairly tight game.

It's wild to re-watch that and see Cooper burn the DB twice in the same play after slowing down.

If Yeldon gets stopped we go for it on 4th down anyway. Zero chance we punt back to UGA w/ 3 1/2 minutes left, down by 3.

I think this is a perfect example of an under the radar play. It's never shown on the pregame video or anything like that, but it was a huge play that people forgot about pretty quickly.

Yeldon was probably the best guy to get those tough yards after Ingram. Either him or Josh Jacobs.

I agree with you that we go for it if he doesn't make it.

If the Georgia tackler had made the play when he first made contact, Yeldon would have been around 3 yards short. So, there's no guarantee we get that first down on 4th and 3.

Anyhow...lots of speculation, but, like you said, Yeldon got those tough yards, and that very well could have made the difference in the SEC Championship Game, and, of course, the National Championship.

I think it was actually an outside zone fake but the way we just decided to start grinding them with Lacy and Yeldon setting up the dagger to Cooper was a masterclass of old school pro style offense.

Someone posted the 2009 Florida highlights on Twitter

Completely forgot about PJ Fitzgerald tackling Florida’s punt returner. Florida would’ve gone up 10-9 in the second.

I watched that entire game last week and man, that was just some beautiful offensive football. Lacy and Yeldon were animals that day. The moment when Fluker crashes out at the oline after a bad play followed by Lacy and the oline big boying the Georgia D running it directly down their throat was just absolute badass shite. Glad to have witnessed that live.
